Does it not happen every night? Or just once during every rotation??

It's my understanding that we only get it once during the cruise.

Yes - the first night that you are scheduled to be in Animator's Palate is when all the "show" takes place. :p

I thought I read that if something else was going on that 1st night that they would give us the show the 2nd night, not the 1st.

I was under that impression too... I just read someone's cruise journal and they had the show the 2nd night dining in AP.
Oh well... as long as we get it once.

You get the "light show" on the night you're in Animator's Palate for rotation dining as opposed to for one of the special menus that are served in all three restaurants.

On the Western itinerary, you'll get the light show the first time you're in Animator's Palate... either Saturday, Sunday, or Monday.

On the Eastern itinerary, you'll get the light show when you're in Animator's for rotation dining... either Saturday, Monday, or Wednesday.

I know this is a silly question, but why do they do it only once?

Because its in the Characters' contracts to only do one show a week. :teeth: Sorry, couldn't resist!

What about for the four night cruise, when there aren't the "theme menus?" If you get Animator's Palate twice, which time (first or second) should you go?

The reason I ask is that we would book Palo's for the other night.

Hello,

We were in Animators Palate the first night of our 4-night Disney Cruise. They did the "light show" that night. Then on the 4th evening it was a regular dinner, THEN you eat a Animators Palate again for breakfast.

We went on the 7-day Eastern Cruise a few years ago and there were two meals at Animator's: one night was the show, where all the colors change, the second night was black-and-white formal night, so the restaurant stayed black and white as well through the entire meal. I don't know if they have changed this.

Unfortunately, we missed the show on our cruise because we had scheduled Palo's for that evening instead (not by choice, it was all that was left by the time we made our ressie. :( Palo's was great though. :)

Not to put a damper on the excitement of the "show" at AP but I was disappointed that it wasn't really a "show" at all. Loud music and cartoons on the wall. Waiters start out in black and white and then "magically" reappear from the kitchen with the vests reversed and in color. Glad I saw it the first time but wish I didn't have such high expectations. Have to do everything at least once!
