Animators Palate question

One of the pictures in the Animators Palatte show on the Wonder was of a goblin- looking creature and fire. I thought it was a gargoyle, but everyone at our table said 'no', but, no one know what it was or what movie it came from. Can anyone please tell me?

We sat in the front of the restaurant in A.P on our cruise on the Wonder last June. We had a picture of a mean gargoyle looking thing directly behind us (it scared both of my kids). Someone said that they thought it was from Fantasia, but I don't know. I'll be interested to see if anyone else knows!

He is from one of the musical segments in the movie Fantasia called Night on Bald Mountain...the characters name is Chernobog, the Black God.

That's right! Night on Bald Mountain is one of my absolute all-time favorites!!!

I love that musical piece as well.....and I also like how they segway right into Ava Maria to contrast the good and evil in the world!!!

I always imagine this elaborate story in my head when I hear that song. It's so powerful. As a long-time violinist, it's one of the most memorable concert pieces I've ever done.
Fantasia is amazing....although I'm still a bigger fan of the original. Yes, it is one of the biggest contrasts in mood in Fantasia...one huge extreme to another. I get chills thinking about it.

Thanks! There have been 2 Fantasia movies , haven't there? I saw the original about 15 years ago and only remember the dancing hippo and Sorcerers Apprentice. Is that the one? I guess I'll have to go look for them at the video or disney store.

Yes. The original Fantasia and then the recent Fantasia 2000.
