Animator's Desk DCA CM issues

I finally made it to DCA today to try and get the Animator's Desk. Got ONE from the CM and he would not give me any extras. I went and rode Tower of Terror and came back to see if the CMs had switched so I could try and get another. He said that they had run out of them. Went off and did some other things and the next CM I talked to said he didn't have any either and nobody knew where the cards were and normally they are left at the entrace to the Animators Workshop. Has anybody had similar issues or managed to get more then one card?

Sorry folks I was going to gift some to the thread if I was able to get extras, but not able to this time.

Any DISers want to try and make a run this week?

Was just at DCA tonight also. CM's said they didn't have anymore cards this evening (was about 830pm) and the lead said they couldn't find the box of cards...

So, no clue if they just didn't want to hand out more cards for the night, or can't really find the box, but I got the same story.

hehehe me and my parents contributed to this problem today. we each got four. not at the same time. you guys should have stopped by earlier in the day you could have just kept going in and out until you had your fill. also the femal castmembers are much more accomodating than the male castmembers at least in my experience. although they wouldnt give us more than one at a time. though we did get some extra cool drawings out of it. i drew an evil pooh. not on purpose of course.

Hmm...So, that means 49 other vmk players didn't get a card.
Forgive me if I don't sound happy for you, I just find the whole thing very unfair. My friend went to DCA last Wednesday and could only get 1 (yes, one) card. I've seen quite a few trade threads for these Desks and it angers me a bit that they were handed out so unfairly.
I seem to recall a similar situation with the Monsters, Inc Gold Doors...

Ok i think this is truly unfair that some people go and can not even get 1 card, and others go and ask for many and get them. Truly people need to stop being greedy, now i can not go to Disney therefore i have to trade for most of the quest i have. Now getting that many cards for this item and not trading them is just wrong. I did in fact write yavn about this issue, to see if he can have something done so these cards are being handed out fairly and each person that wants one should get 1. So maybe we will hear something about this soon.

and yes getting a handful of those cards is really not cool.

I am happy you had a great run at DLR on the animators desks and I am sure you meant to add that you were going to contact me, LoriR or WebmasterKelsie so that some gifts could be arranged and just forgot....

please do not attack Astro he only just got the cards and he did not say he was not going to gift any....I am sure next time he is logged on he will contact me, Lori or Kelsie and gift as many as he can.

If VMK was concerned about people getting lots of cards they could easily tie the card distribution to admission tickets and restrict them to every 90 days like all the other prizes. Not sure why they chose to just give them out knowing that people will abuse the system. I think the Gold Monster Doors were a little different. They were clearly using those to advertise VMK and were handing them out to everyone. CMs would give out extras if asked.

went to DCA today and there are animator desks available, just go to the animation place and ask the CM for a card, you don't have to sit through the whole show there was also another CM who is in the lobby area with cards so maybe you can be slick and try asking both of them if available.

i got my four desks by going to the show four times. did it ever occur to you that astro did the same thing? they have shows running all day about every 10-15 minutes depending on how long the instructor takes on teaching you to draw the character. my mom dad and i spent an hour drawing little characters just to get the four cards we got. so dont assume that someone is greedy and asked for more cards because most likely they went to the show again. i tried to get more cards the first time through and they said one per person per show.
