Animation chnages?

With Disney's announcement that the company will be doing a feature animated movie, "The Frog Princess", I was wondering what the public prefers. In the last few years they have relied on Pixar and Disney Digital for their animated movies. What do you prefer?

I think computer animation is cool, but I MUCH prefer hand drawn animation.

I agree. It really has a certain charm to it that the computer stuff does not.

I prefer the movie be done with what makes the most sense for the story and setting.

I think CGI is the wya to go when you are going for realism, which IMO, is why it was great that Toy Story was done in CGI. I don't think it could have the same impact if things didn't have that realistic look.

But part of me thinks each of the other Pixar movies could have been done just as well using traditional animation.

I read the announcement about frog princess..it seems ok I guess. My question is: what the heck happened to Rapunzel? Weren't they working on that at some point??

It is currently listed as being "in production" and supposedly will be released June 2009.

It's doubtful they have gone back to true hand drawn cell animation (which I prefer) as they had already fired just about all of their old school animators some time ago. This is probably CGI with hand finishing as opposed to it being done with a mouse.
