animals real or not???

Please help me settle this argument I have with my husband

At animal Kingdom on the Kilimanjaro Safari, he says the animal are not all real and I says that they are real well except for the baby elephant in the truck!

What is your opinion

All the animals are real except the baby elephant at the end, otherwise, they would all be in the same place every time you rode it.

The Jungle Cruise animals, however, are all fake.

All the animals are real except for the Elephant (Little Red) in the truck. The Ostrich egg & ant hills are also not real but everything else is.

They use natural barriers and food to encourage the animals to be where they want them to be. There is a great documentary about it on the travel channel from time to time.

You're correct - everything is real except "Little Red". Too bad your husband wasn't riding with us in November. It was the very last safari of the day and the cheetahs decided to have a party! They were chasing each other and racing around - I've never seen them doing much of anything besides sleeping in the shade. Even our driver admitted it was pretty rare and awesome, and stayed there longer than she was supposed to so we could watch.

We've also had our truck held up by some very REAL rhinos and antelope-type creatures walking across the road, and had giraffes come thisclose to our truck.

Oh yeah, and this is very definitely real... and waiting for dinner!

We also had a giraffe come very close to our jeep, close enough to touch her if you wanted (or were allowed ). She walked up while she was munching some food and stood by our jeep as if she was curious but ultimately didn't find us all that interesting. It was sweet because the driver said, "Hi there, sweetheart" like the giraffe was her pet. I bet they do become fond of the animals they see on such a regular basis.

That is so great you got to see the cheetahs! Every single time I've been on KS the cheetahs were hiding way back in the shade under the trees.

We saw the cheetahs running after something also. The driver said it was rare to see. It was really cool.

He needs to watch the AK program on the travel channel. It goes into detail of how the animals are cared for and such.
They are most certainly real.

Agreed - he must be thinking about the Jungle Cruise where absolutely nothing is real. There's no way you'd go on the Safari and think the animals were fake. The imagineers are good, but they're not THAT good.

Like everyone already said, the animals are real...

The termite hills along the savanna are fake though... They are FOODCONTAINERS to keep the animals near the road...
Same with some trees and stones too!

As any Safari CM will tell you (but NOT during the tour,) the ostrich eggs are, in fact, real.

But, they were not "put there" by any ostrich, and there are no "little ostriches" inside.

Oh, he's real all right. Last time we did the safari, he was walking around roaring like crazy. Our guide was speechless for a moment and then she was so excited. It was very cool.

We must have been on the same ride!

My mom loves, loves, loves, giraffes and this happened to us the year we went. She still talks about it to this day and has the picture I took sitting on her kitchen table.
