Animals at Animal Kingdom Savannah View

My DH loves to sit out on the balcony at night with a glass of wine watching the savanna after dark.

I enjoy this as well ! Just relaxing out on the balcony.......
I agreed with your whole post Lisa. Those times sound about right. We were on the Sunset Savanna Kidani in May. We came back to rest midday in our room, so these pics were taken from our balcony between 2 and 5 pm'ish and then we left again to go back to the parks.

I've stayed Savannah view twice (well one was actually concierge, but we got lucky and were on the SV side). Both were relatively long stays and I agree with what others have said that it can be a bit up and down what you see and when. For a long stay though it's wonderful, a real treat to see a giraffe strolling by. A shorter stay could mean you run the risk of being dissapointed if you get unlucky.

An alternative is to make use of the different viewing spots provided around the resort. The one by Sanaa at Kidani is great and we also enjoyed using the night vision by the pool at Jambo.

Any way you look at it, it's a wonderful resort :goodvibes

We were on the Sunset Savanna at Kidani, we didn't really see much in the morning, maybe an ostritch. In late afternoon when we were back from the parks and getting ready for dinner we say the giraffes and all the other animals.

I guess I would say don't expect to see the animals everytime you look out. It's not a 24-7 experience. Ask at checkin what time the animals will be most visable on your savanna. Usually when they are eating. We didn't know what time they were there for a few days and were disappointed when we'd look out and didn't see anything.

Thank you so much for posting these -- really helps put it into focus...

You are very welcome. The photos I posted were from a short stay (3 nights). I'd say those pics were an average of what we saw from the 3 days. There were some time periods where we didn't see any animals but those were short-lived compared to the times we did have animals outside our balcony.

Heres what i found out from friends who stayed at DVCV - Kidani Village last May.

It was their first time staying at Kidani & loved it! They said they saw more Giraffe at Kidani than when they've stayed at Jambo House in the past. Sunset Savanna is Kidani's main Savanna & it's very large & open but it doesn't have the variety of animals there like Jambo House does. But Jambo House shares a part of Sunset Savanna so you'll probably see more Giraffe if you're looking over that particular Savanna. Jambo House also has 2 other Savanna's called Arusha Savanna (the main one) & Uzima Savanna. So you'll see different animals depending on what Savanna you're looking out over.

:)
