Animals And Creatures Seen In Wdw

We have seen turkey by the golf courses, ardvarkes and deer. Love it. Of course at POR you can always see bunny rabbits and lizards.
Aardvarks? Or Armadillos? The Armadillos are everywhere but I think the Aardvark is native to Africa.

Saw this while walking the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail this past June:

I'm not an expert on Florida snakes, but, as others have said, this snake might be a red rat snake.

It also could be a mole kingsnake.

But, if I saw something like it, I'd be worried that it was a copperhead. This one is venomous.

Relatively few snakes in Florida will cause you a problem. But, you never know. I'd just keep my distance from all of them.

Rat Snake...

Totally harmless, unless.....you know, you happen to be a rat:rotfl:

I've moved this thread to the Theme Parks Community board where it can slither and crawl among the other picture threads. :)

Wow, I don't know what took me so long to find this thread.

I have lots of wildlife photos. These were all taken at Fort Wilderness (but not on the same visit) :

Boy-I wish I had taken a picture of the snake we watched slither into someone's air conditioner at POFQ:scared1: We tried knocking on the door, but no one answered. We let the front desk know too...
Still love POFQ though!! (my mom did look a little:sick: )

We saw a yellow spider like Matthew's in Animal Kingdom. I normally hate spiders, but he seemed really cool.

These three ducks sat with us at the bus stop in Magic Kingdom. We named them Huey, Dewey and Louie.

These beautiful birds were at Animal Kingdom:

OMG I would sooo die if I saw a snake slither across the path and even more so if one came into my room.

What kind of wildlife is there in Coronado?

I don't have a picture but when we stayed in 1996 (for my 11th birthday) at the Disney Institute my dad was downstairs watching the news and having his morning coffee when he heard a tapping sound like someone knocking on the patio door. He looked out and tapping his beak against the door was the massive bird. He was tall...I think some sort of crane? Anyway my dad kept the door shut and was trying to scare him away but the crane just stood there tapping away. So finally dad opened the door to scare him and the crane flapped his wings and walked right into the villa like he owned the place! We think the people who had been staying there before us had fed him every morning of their stay and he got used to the special treatment!
He was very friendly though and would have let me pet him if my mom had!
When he realized we weren't going to feed him (much to my disappointment) he walked right back out and went about his business. But he did come back every morning of our stay and tapped on the window at the same time!! That was the only time he actually came in though.
