Has anybody heard about the new ride they're building in AK? I heard Expedition Everest was supposed to open this spring.
I was corrected:
Now, Guests can get a sneak "peak" at Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain™ before the thrilling new attraction officially opens in April. The sneak "peak" takes place during regular park operating hours.
Thanks,
Joe

I think you're referring to Expedition Everest, which is in "soft" open now with the official opening scheduled for April.

it's expedition everest and i think there is info on the dis home page. there have been a few threads that have videos and such maybe do a search

It's a great ride! I rode it 8 times during the DVC/AP sneak peek in January. :thumbsup2 Fun!

I saw the hieght requirement is 44 inches. My daughter is 46 inches and I was wondering if it would be O.K. to take her on the ride. Did you notice any small children going on the ride?
Thanks,
Joe

If your DD likes thrill rides she will love this one. Rode it last weeekend loved it.

I would suggest viewing one of the many videos of the ride on the Internet. Google Expedition Everest ride Videos and see what you can find.

Their are some dark parts of the ride in the mountain and the car does go backwards at times in the dark. Their is also an 80Ft. drop.

Just back from Disney and rode Expedition Everest 5 times. It is a great ride. My DD who is 8 rode it once and said that she would not ever go back on. She kept her eyes closed the whole time. We went back a few days later to experience again and she rode it this time with her eyes open. She now says it is her favorite ride. She ended up riding it 3 times. The Yeti can be pretty scary :scared1: ,but if your daughter likes rollercoasters I'm sure she will love this one.

My grandson (9) rode it 13 times (as did my son, his father)...My granddaughters (6 & 8) rode it eight times...The six year old is small for her age...She loved it....while her Nana ( Me, 55 years old) rode it five times...and held on for dear life! I must say..I was quite worried before riding it...especially hearing we'd be going backwards for 30 seconds in the dark...I always get a bit sick whenever I go backwards really fast...Well..I must say that I loved it....I expected a huge drop after climbing really high on that first hill and kept thinking..."Why did I let them talk me into this?"...but, there wasn't a huge drop....The backwards part didn't make me sick at all...not one bit...which really surprised me....My sister (who is 62) just loved the whole ride...and my husband (58) said it was a great roller coaster....My daughter in law rode it 8 times and said she really liked it....So..you see..there are many ages...My six year old granddaughter rode it with her hands up...(not me!) pixiedust: But, the next time I go...I will ride it as many times as I can.

DH and I are going in May and are hoping to ride Everest!!!! We saw them building it when we were there in September!

I just can't wait!!!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

Rode it two times last week; the first time in the middle of the train, after which my DW and DD prclaimed it "boring." :confused3 The second time they were in the front car and they thought it was much better!

DJR and others - We'll be on EE in early May  and I have purposely been avoiding reading too much about it as I want to just experience it. From the photos I have seen, the train is very long. This reminds me of BTMRR, where our family has concluded the back of the train is by far the best seat. But BTMRR only goes forward. My first thought was that EE would be better in the back.

Without giving too much away, for those have ridden EE what is your opinion about best seat - front, middle or back?

We were able to ride it last Tuesday, it was not running in the morning but they opened it up in the afternoon. Fastpass was late and we waited 45 minutes but it was worth it. Great ride, great view from the top of Everest.

I saw some kids around 5 or 6 riding. Each rider gets his own lap bar. I felt like my kids were in there nice and snug even though they are very thin.

After riding EE 10 times, my boys said their best ride was second from the back--which become second from the front! :teeth:

You get different sensations from different areas on the train. Personally I think the front is the best. The first time I rode it I was second from the front. The visual effect there is great.

:confused3

Does anyone think this will not open till April 7th or will it be like the 50th anniversary attractions that opened well before their scheduled dates?

I am hoping because we will be there April 2-6th and can't extend our dates, my daughter has a dance competition in Cleveland that weekend.
