We are looking into buying (thanks to everyone who offered referal). I was a little concerned about the size of the new animal kingdom villas structure. It seems to me that if you were put any where on the on side of the main entry that you would have a very very long walk to AKL does anyone have an idea about the size of this new building. (maybe it seems bigger on paper). I guess the problem is if you want to go ovr to the AKL (buses, dinner, pool, etc) you have to walk the whole length of the villas building because of the savanna.

Kidani Village will have it's own pool, bus stop and table service restaurant. If you want to go to Jambo House, it's about 1/2 mile between the main entrances of the two buildings.

The new building, Kidani Village, will have its own bus stops, lobby, pool, and restaurant. You wont have to walk over to the existing resort to use those things. The only think I imagine going to Jambo for is maybe the counter service restaurant, but I doubt I'll do that either.

I see a lot of people posting about how big the new building is and how long the walk will be. Looking at photos, it just doesn't look like its that far. But I'm used to staying at Port Orleans, so maybe I'm just used to long walks :)

oh my guide told me that the bus stop was shared... it's a shared bus with two stops?

yeah we like boma a lot, but i guess it is a good way to work off your buffet.

I believe the description on the member website says the distance between the front entrance of Kidani Village to the front entrance of Jambo house is 2,500 ft. That equals 0.47 miles.

Here it is!

Will the two buildings be in walking distance from each other?
Yes, there is an outdoor walking path between the two buildings (approx. 2,500-foot walk from the porte cochere of one building to the other).

so if you are on the far end it could be a mile walk to get to the main akl entrance?

Probably not a mile, but the building is huge (it is actually larger than it looks on paper) and from the end of that wing north of the Kidani lobby to Jambo could be 3/4 of a mile or more and yes you will have to walk to Kidani front entrance and then over to Jambo from there on the outside part where the road will be; no shortcuts across the savanna.
