After many years we are going to visit the Animal Kingdom this trip (we went the inaugural year and have not been back) and were wondering what 1 dining experience would you recommend???

We go to Disney every year and love the parks so we figured let's try the AK again.

Any advice is appreciated, we are still looking through dining reviews to figure this one out.

Price does not matter but we do not like spicy stuff :stir::stir:

I had a quick meal at the bar at Yak and Yeti. I thought the atmosphere was really neat....and love the Yak Attack, Pork Rolls and Fried Wonton Dessert. My next trip I will for sure take the time to sit down and enjoy the whole experience.

Donald's Breakfast Safari at Tusker House. Try to get an ADR for before the park opens to give yourself a couple of photo-ops without many people in the way. You take a picture with Donald when you check in (they will take a picture with your own camera so you won't have to buy the package if you don't want to), Mickey, Daisy and Goofy visit the tables in their Safari outfits. The food is pretty good.

For a late lunch try Flame Tree BBQ. My girlfriend and I both like the BBQ Chicken salad. They also have ribs and a bunch of other good stuff (not spicey, just tastey).:thumbsup2

I think the character meal at Tusker House for breakfast is the best meal in the park. I'm not a huge fan of Rainforest or Yak and Yeti.

I would suggest lunch between 1pm-1:45pm at Tusker House, which gets you priority seating at the Finding Nemo show at 3:15pm. It's a very good place to eat, and you get the bonus of not standing in line for the show later.

Last May we had a great dinner at Yak & Yeti (table service, not the quick service window). I had the Shaoxing Steak & Shrimp, and DH had a Seared Miso Salmon. Both were excellent!!! We tried the Wok-fried Green Beans appy also... very tasty, but the chili sauce for dipping WAS spicy, so you may not care for that unless they have an alternate for dipping, or you do without dip. Our dessert was Pineapple Wontons, so yummy!! And we can recommend two adult beverages, if you like fruity: Yak Attack and Shanghai Express!

They were able to meet our request of an upstairs table by the window, which gave us a fantastic view of the parade :3dglasses since we were timed just right for it!

We also like Flame Tree BBQ for quick service. Ribs are my fav, with a dry rub that's not too spicy, not too messy. DH prefers the pulled pork sandwich, even without their bbq sauce. Their slaw and baked beans are both very tasty, but some might find the beans too spicy.

We haven't tried Tusker House yet, but it's on our list. It's good to see more recommendations!

Enjoy your planning, and your visit!!! :goodvibes

I really do not like any of the dining options at AK other than Tusker House, mainly for the breakfast. I think the character interaction is wonderful there, and the food is delicious! I only dined at Yak and Yeti once, but wasn't too thrilled with it. I used to love Flame Tree, but the last few times we ate there, it was gross..

Of all the parks I thought AK had the best variety of food at the best prices.

I would go with the 8:05 breakfast at TH also. The food is better than other characters meals we've been to & we had great character interaction. I've heard others say their character interaction wasn't as good, so it may depend on where you're seated. :confused3 It's the only character meal we'll return to in the near future.

Another vote for tusker house character breakfast, actually is our favorite character meal while on WDW.

Never tried yak & yeti, rainforest is in my opinion overrated:sad2: poor service, bad food.

Tusker Houe breakfast only since you don't do spicy.

Lunch/dinner Flame Tree if you want CS & BBQ or Yak & Yeti TS if you want sit-down (will likely need ADRs). Both have the same menu lunch/dinner, I guess since the park closes so early.

The Tusker House and Flame Tree

the best bet maybe to hop on over to the AKL and hit up Boma

Another vote for Tusker House breakfast! Yummy food! (Don't skip the quiche) and the characters are so much fun. We also like Yak and Yeti for dinner, but honestly we could take it or leave it. :confused3I think we'll try the counter service this trip.
