I guess I have a renewed interest in AK w/the anticiaption of Expedition Everest, but what else do you find good/great/really enjoyable about this park.
I did enjoy Kali River Rapids, but I think we have only spent a half day here-once a few yrs. ago. I would love to give it another try.
Notazoo!

There's the safari ride, lion king show, bugs life 3-d show, the rapids, dinosuar ride, in the dinosaur area is a carnival type area, with a little spinning roller coaster, a good bird show, lots of places to actually see animals. You could spend more time, but you have to slow down and enjoy the whole park not just do all the rides.

Kilimanjaro
Tough to be a Bug
Tree of Life
DeVine
Animals (ani-mules)
Dinosaur
Triceratop Spin (like Dumbo)
Flights of Wonder
Pochahontas
Jammin' Jungle Parade
Kali
Festival of the Lion King
Maharajah Jungle Trek
Pangani Forst Trail

I love Animal Kingdom.

Mararaja Jungle Trek and Pangani Forest are great! Guides stand nearby and answer questions about the animals.

So these 2 areas have animals that you can interact with?
(Jungle Trek and Pangini Forest)

I love the Lion King Show! :thumbsup2

We LOVE Animal Kingdom! But as another poster said, you have to slow down and enjoy the whole park, not just each individual attraction. We like going on about the third day of our trip when we are in need of a slower pace than what we've kept at MK or EPCOT. We take our time and enjoy the beauty and detail of this amazing park rather than running from one ride to another. Not that AK doesn't have great attractions - it truly does. Dinosaur is one of the best rides I've been on in any park and Festival of the Lion King is my favorite show in all of Disney World. I haven't been on Expedition Everest yet, but I am looking forward to it this summer.
Did I mention we LOVE Animal Kingdom? :simba:

Um, everything!! :teeth:

We love AK! IMO, it's the most beautiful park. The detail is amazing...the benches, lights, restaurants, etc. It's all wonderful. I always fine that we have a very laid back, relaxing day at AK.

The animals are fun to watch, especially the tigers. Festival of the Lion King is the best show on property, and It's Tough to be a Bug is the best 4D movie. The safari is great, and we even enjoy the cheesy dino-rama (if you understand that it's supposed to be a cheesy roadside carnival, then it's great!).

We spent an entire day at AK in December and still didn't "see it all."

Yes in deed ... I like everything about the AK... especially the Dawa Bar!

All depends what you mean by "interact". These are wild animals, after all.

On the Jungle Trek there is are windows which give you the opportunity for a "face-to-face" encounter with the gorgeous tigers.

In Pangani Forest a CM specifically asked guests to not "interact" with the gorillas -- staring at them, face to face, is apparently considered a territorial challenge.

These two locations are, however, wonderful areas to view animals.

Well, I'd go to AK just for Festival of the Lion King, it is the best show in WDW in my opinion. I LOVE it!

I also like Camp Minnie Mickey and Kali River Rapids and it's Tough to be a Bug.

Next trip I am going to try and make it over to Rafiki's Planet Watch, I have never been there and want to check it out.

We like AK too, but visit it less frequently (I think because of the early closing, and many time we don't go to the parks until the afternoon/evening).

I agree, that you can't be in a hurry at AK. I find if our schedule calls for us to be in a rush getting from one place to another I get frustrated as it seems more "congested" than the other parks to me - I think it's the village type layout in each area....JMHO.

We were there last Sun (2/5) and it was very busy. We enjoyed the train ride to Rafiki's Planet Watch and Planet Watch itself. We had not gotten back there in the past. It was a great way to spend the hour waiting for our FP time on the safari.

We love Festival of the Lion King too!

Get the drink bottle. Once you buy it for about 6.99 you can get refills of soda all day long for 99 cents. This is the only park that offers the cup refils. :drinking1

I really like walking trails, especially in the AM when the animals are frisky. I guess I just really like the animals at AK. The rides are fun but are not the primary attraction for me.

We loved AK too - lots of animals to see, but remember that it's not a "zoo" per se. As far as interacting with them goes, some people think it's a bore and not worth the (admittedly aesthetically uninspired) train ride over there but my DD LOVED the petting zoo at Rafiki's PLanet Watch. She was 3.5 and it was just her speed, and not at all crowded. Also I understand the Rafiki character is hanging out there more and more - we saw him and had a good visit, no line!

i am looking forward to going AK because i have never been there before.

11 days left until i am coming over!

woo hoo! :cool1: :cool1:

Also, Camp Minnie-Mickey is a great place to see characters in a way that you won't see them anywhere else. Minnie grabbed my map away from me and started fanning herself with it because she was so hot.

I think AK has the best theming of all the parks. When you're walking down the trails to look at the animals, especially on a July morning, you can really imagine being in a jungle in Africa or Asia. We love the food and the Lion King show. It's just so different from the other parks!

We really like AK. Last time we did a first and saw Flights of Wonder. It was a wonderful show and the girls (9 and 6) loved it and so did I.

I think Animal Kingdom is a beautiful park -- the theming is amazing. It's my dh's favorite of the Disney parks. He did say it was strange going from this rustic village into this ultra modern bathroom where the blowers literally moved the skin on your hands.

I'm looking forward to EE. I enjoy the safari, the Lion King show, Tough to be a Bug, and Dinosaur and Kali River Rapids (although the ride is super short). My dh and dc love the walk through exhibits with the animals.

I find the park a little dull. Am really hoping EE will still be open when we're there in two weeks or I will be very dissapointed.

But even if EE is not running and the kids enjoy it, then I'll be happy.
