I tried to do a quick search, but was unsuccessful. Does Kidani Village or Jambo House have an outdoor running trail? Our first trip to Kidani is in a little less than 4 weeks and would love to be able to run outdoors in the morning.

Thank you for your help!

No, there are no running trails at AK because of the savanna. Some people run through the parking lots, but that's a little tough. My DH, who always runs outside, runs on the treadmills when we stay here. If it's any consolation, the gym is very nice.

Thank you for the response. I was hopeful, but was pretty sure the gym was the only option. We are staying at Kidani, so I don't know that trekking all the way over to the gym is going to be feasible as often as I was hoping for.

The walk between Kidami and Jambo House isn't very long, maybe 10 min at a walk so why not jog over there then hit the gym? They have a shuttle that runs between the two but I found it quicker and easier to walk it.

The running path is called a treadmill at AKV/AKL. Or you drive over to SSR, OKW, POR, FW, etc.

Extremely helpful and kind answer to someone asking an honest question, who is obviously not quite in the know about such things, thank you ever so much.

There is a gym on the Kidani side of the resort. It's smaller than the Jambo side, but has treadmills and is very nice. My husband and I used it several times on our last trip. It's over by the pool.

I think the post you are referring too was meant to be funny. Anyway, I was hoping to hear there was a running trail, what a cool view that would be on my morning run!

Thank you for this update! We were both really surprised that there wasn't anything available on the Kidani side. :)

I can actually see the potential for that, now that you have pointed it out, thank you. I had these visions of running along the perimeter (at least partially) of one of the savannah's before dawn/during sunrise and was imagining how beautiful and relaxing that would be. :)

The gym at Kidani, while small is very nice. Kind of a view on the treadmill, if I recall. Vegetation and the like. It had kind of the same feel as the resort. I liked it.

Thank you all for taking the time to respond! I am trying to keep myself excited and motivated for not taking a break from my exercise routine while on vacation, especially since we are on the DDxDP and I haven't lost the weight I wanted to lose before leaving for our trip. Knowing these options are available helps a lot. :D

don't underestimate the parking lot - lots and lots of trees - many guests and DVC members use it. you have lots of room. don't like to walk inside at all - so outside is always my choice

Since there are no animals in the Savannah in the morning they should let you run through the Savannah lol

But there are animals in the savanna all the time, they are not all taken into the barns at the same time. The animals usually decide to wait near the barns but they are still roaming free on the savanna. After some of the animals are given their daily check they are released and others brought in. You can see this happen at Kidani on the Pembe savanna and when we stayed in a cash room at Jambo House we could see the same procedure occurred with that barn. The animals just prefer to group there by the barn under the trees and wait for their call (whistle/bell). So joggers in the savanna doesn't work. Besides who wants to pay extra points for a view of joggers each morning off my balcony?

I was wondering why they don't add something on the other side of the fence surrounding the savannas for the joggers? Is it marshland and it would take lots infastructure to drain it? They would have to deal with the service roads and of course AKVs dues would have to go up to pay for and maintain a joggers track. I have read that Kidani is right on the edge of WDW's property, but I don't really know if that is true. That too could be a factor. It is a shame they didn't add it at the beginning. Things were sort of forgotten at AKV/AKL for anything outside not related to the savanna, even the look of the buildings are pretty ugly on side you drive up to at Kidani Village.

Was just teasing as everyone complains that the animals aren't viewable in the morning
