Animal Kingdom Tours - Opinions & Cool Idea

Who has done one of the AK tours? Which one? Did you love it? I like tours but some are just too long for me. Three hours is about it - I need to run free at the parks after that.


Heres my cool idea so that everyone can tell me why it will never happen:
We did the Around the World at Epcot last winter - the Segway Tour. So great - I highly recommend it. How about one at AK on the SUV Segways? That would be awesome! DBF insists that would be when the lions would get out!

I did the Backstage Safari last November and loved it. Sometime I really want to do Wild by Design, but that's only offered on Thursday and Friday. Backstage Safari is offered Monday and (I think) Wednesday. We got to see the animal houses, and go into the building where they prepare the food, and go on the Safari ride without the narration. It's hard to be objective-I love AK, but I think this would be an enjoyable tour for anyone.

DD14 and I did Wild by Design last July and it was awesome! We really liked it a lot and would definitely recommend it.

Both tours are excellent and are around three hours each. Basically, If you want to see animals and how they are cared for, do Backstage Safari. If you are interested in trivia and how the park was designed and built including the stories behind why and how things were done the way they were, take Wild by Design. Imho, you would not be disappointed with either.

I think the only way the segway tour would be possible in AK, is if it is done before or after park closing. Alot of the paths are very narrow(and bumpy) and the crowds will make it hard to get around.

Also I heard that a "Dine with an Imagineer" is now also offered at the AK lodge. I did the one at MGM and it was great!
