Animal Kingdom to Magic Kingdom?

I thought that I could take a bus from Animal Kingdom to Magic Kingdom. After reading some of the other posts here, now I'm doubting that. Anyone know? We're staying at All Stars, so I could take the bus back to All stars then catch another to MK. What are my choices?

All MK park to park buses are based out of the Transportation & Ticket Center. So, you'll take the TTC bus, and then the MK Monorail.

Should you wish to go back to your room, feel free. The All-Star/MK bus will go directly to the MK and bypass the TTC.

Wendy, If you have a little extra time you could take to bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge and spend some time there. It is only a couple of minutes from AK and it is the most beautiful resort. Then take the bus to MK.

That's another thought. I stayed at AKL last year, but DM hasn't seen it. Maybe we could go by and check out their Christmas Decorations. I bet they're "wild"

When we there last christmas, the buses from AK goes to all parks directly. Since AK closes early, and the other parks open late, the buses allow you to get to other parks directly.

The one exception is the MK. For that, you must go to the TTC and switch to the Monorail. However, you are correct, from DAK, there is a direct bus to Epcot and the Disney-MGM Studios.

So how long would that ride take? I was thinking of spending the day at AK, seeing the parade at 3:45 & then get to MK for 6pm Spectro Magic & 7pm Wishes. Is that possible, timewise? Or should I plan something else for that day?

I think you will easily have enough time to do that! If it were me, I'd take the first bus about to leave for one of the following:

AKL (then bus directly to MK)

CR (then walk to MK or you could take the monorail, but that would likely take longer than walking)

Poly or GF (then monorail to MK from there)


I usually allow an hour to move between points using Disney transportation (even though it RARELY takes that long (unless I'm using DD as my transfer hub, LOL).

Try to position your party for the AK parade to be as near to the park entrance as you can get (and still have a good spot to view the parade). You will probably run into a crowd on Main Street waiting for Spectro. Consider taking the train (if it's still running when you arrive at the MK) to Adventure Land and looking for a spot to watch Spectro deeper within the park - i.e., somewhere other than Main Street or the castle hub area. You can move for Wishes.
