We will be spending one day in AK on an upcoming trip. My DD is obsessed with Avatar and wants to ride FOP as many times as possible. We are planning to arrive for early admission and head straight to FOP. I'm going to try to buy her an LLSP for later in the day and if she wants to ride a third time, she has to stand on line for as long as it takes.

Is there a better strategy to try to get her the three rides she so desperately is hoping for?

I think you've got it - rope drop standby, LLSP, and then stand and wait for the 3rd ride (which is likely to range from 60-120 minutes later in the day, depending when you're there). But such a great ride......!

I also agree that you have it right for multiple rides... If you want a shortER wait for that third ride, I would hop in line just before park closing as the posted wait will likely be inflated. You won't have LL riders to contend with, making standby move more briskly.

If you are staying all day, you could try to ride right before closing, lines tend to be shorter. We did EE multiple times using this method.

Rope drop and a LLSP are a good option. If *you* don't want to ride it 2/3 times, you could get a LLSP under her name and another one under your name (or someone else in your party) and allow her to use both--that would be two rides for her. This assumes she is old enough to queue and ride alone. Otherwise, leaving around midday and coming back to the park early evening to ride near park close is also a solid plan if you don't want to stay in the park all day.
