Has anyone gone on the new Animal Kingdom Safari Adventure? My husband and I were wondering if it is worth the $180 per person price tag.

I have not gone on the Tour,(yet :thumbsup2) but on our trip last week, we got to see some of the upgrades that have been made to the safari/savanna... and other visible areas. There has been a very neat high bridge over the crocodile pool, this is a long bridge, and you are tied off. It looks like you will have time to take pictures and go across this bridge by yourself. They added a viewing area near the hippo pool... it looks out on the pool on the right side of the road. The place where you exit the truck/tour vehicle is near the first baobob tree on the savanna.. it's insteresting how they have it set up. You can see that the guests exit onto a platform and then there must be a trail to the high bridge.

The dining? reception? area on the savannah is situated to the far right of the savannah, in the far corner near where the 1st set of ostrich eggs are opposit the flamingo pond. This pavillion is slightly elevated, and it appeared to have tableclothes and looked very elegant. I think these are all the things that I could see from the safari. I took pictures, but don't know how to add to a post. Oh I almost forgot, we did see them leaving the area near the Dawa bar, near Tusker, There was a photopass photographer taking loads of candid shots of the folks in there safari gear. Each person had a headseat, not sure about a micrphone and the leader/tourguide was speaking softly into a microphone... this would be great for animal viewing.

Happy planning!:hippie:

I did the first tour on the first day - it was great, and well worth the introductory price of $129. Those of us on the tour who talked about price were in agreement it was not necessarily a good value at $189 and I don't think all of us would have done it. It goes to that price late Feb, then I hear it's going to $249 in April. At that price I'd say it's definitely NOT worth it! The food is weird and it's meant to be a snack (not a meal). It's nice out there but rustic (not elegant). The rope bridges (there are 2) are alot of fun, and we had up-close viewing of a hippo and later some crocodiles. If that's worth $189 to you, then by all means go for it.

We went the first day and LOVED it! Great experience. Both physical and mental. It was neat to go through the woods and have to duck and work our way through the woods. Neat seeing the hippos and crocs while dangling over their dens. Rope bridges were neat and liked the whole experience and theming. Our favorite was going to the boma on Kilimanjaro Safaris and seeing the animals and sampling the snacks. We paid $129, so I thought it was well worth the price. At $189, I think it still would be but it is pricey.

Last week I called Member Services to ask about the trek for our July trip. They are currently booking through April. The CM said that there is seasonal pricing and for the summer the cost is $250 per person!!!!!!! Looks cool, but not for that price. It's only a three hour experience.
