Animal Kingdom Refurbishment 2025

I think the rooms at Jambo are perfectly fine for now. Still have couches instead of pull downs and slightly showing its age, but its still one of my favs.
Agreed. Some of the rooms have been used much harder than others, but overall still in good shape. Will be nice to get those Murphy Beds, though! So much more comfortable than the sofas!

It's my understanding based on what was communicated that Jambo will be a fast follower after Kidani, so I don't think it will be a situation where Kidani gets done, then there's a lag to Jambo starting. I'd expect that it would basically be pivoting those resources immediately to Jambo.

We've got a stay scheduled for December 2025 at Kidani, so I'm half dreading what that construction looks like and half hoping we get lucky and happen to get one of the early referb rooms. Not very likely but I can hope :)

The standard Jambo hotel rooms were renovated in 2021. On the DVC side, they've said that they are starting with Kidani in October, but the Jambo DVC suites will be renovated after that starts, very likely sometime in 2026.

Hopefully with it being only a single floor of rooms, they will be done before August 26

The rooms are on 2 floors but one can certainly hope it will be a quicker turnaround at Jambo as they have 1/3 the the rooms as Kidani. They also will not have to do so much work with one less bathroom in the 1/2 bedroom units.

Maybe this has already been mentioned but there are absolutely rooms that have been removed from inventory from Kidani in Dec 2025 (about 1/3 of the studios, and half of the grand villas) I was surprised to see Kidani already on a WL for December which is why I did The deep dive.

I have a room booked Sept 1 for the Moonlight Magic, I am hoping that the rooms won't be a disaster with the refurb just around the corner

My husband and I booked 4 nights at Kidani for October. Now I am doubtful it's where we want to be. I am happy about the refurb coming, since we own there, but haven't been there in a long time. I was really looking forward to staying there, but now I am having second thoughts. Also, how will this effect the resort savanna/animals?

Our recent stays at Jambo have been very enjoyable. There's a difference between the room being dated and the room not being up to the standards we are accustomed to at Disney. IMO we have not gotten rooms not up to standard. At times we have had a maintenance issue or two at several resorts, but they were always addressed and rectified promptly. I am looking forward to the new Murphy beds as well as they have IMO been more comfortable than the sleeper sofas.

Well I’ve bitten the bullet and booked a 6 night stay in a 1 bed at Jambo. 🤞🏼 for no issues!
I moved to Boulder Ridge for my upcoming March/April trip, but am leaving AKV Kidani for my October trip....I do miss staying at that resort.

Have a great stay!

Thank you! Enjoy Boulder Ridge, the new rooms are lovely!

Think they’ll keep 2 beds in the living room on the 1 bedrooms or is it a requirement they keep the person count on the rooms the same or higher? We’re looking at buying AKL DVC points but having 2 beds in the living room for 5 people rooms is a must for us.

They’ve added sleeping capacity at time of refurb (e.g. when they added the single Murphy beds to BWV studios in 2016, increasing capacity from 4 to 5) but I can’t remember them ever reducing capacity. I don’t expect them to reduce the capacity or the number of sleeping surfaces at AKV - too many owners want 3 sleeping surfaces or a capacity of five.

I'm guessing they'll add a single fold down under the TV and get rid of the sleeper chair.

Thanks, I was hoping they hadn't reduced capacity before in a refurb.

I'm not super familiar with timelines as far as when the first refurbished rooms have generally become available after the start of the refurb cycle - I'm staying at Kidani in December and hoping that it may be possible to have a fresh room at that time. I know that's unlikely even if there are some done by then because the quantity will be small, but is there any chance at all that some would be available two months deep into the refurb?
