As an owner of 3 different resorts, it makes me proud as AKL was the first one I bought at. Excited to see how all the room types turn out both here and then over at Jambo once those are done next year.

Overall solid. @MrsNVDISFamily was also a bit bummed about the lamps but overall glad to see one of our favorite resorts (and the ones with the bonus bathrooms) turned out so well.

Looks great! Very glad the refurb has some character. My daughter will be very excited for the pull-down under the TV. Looking forward to staying there in April!

I know you’re not referring to BLT, but I chuckled a bit when the fellow said “nice cabinets, real wood”…you sure about that?
I hope it is, because BLT is pressed board with a bad sticker attached.

at least it looks like they kept the master bed with the headboards

I am one who liked the dark theme.... I am glad it is not generic, I was dreading the refurb and hoping they did not erase the individuality

I’m an AKL owner and I’m really happy with the renovation overall. I’m glad they kept some of the heavy wood furniture and didn’t lighten it up too much. I don’t love the kitchen tile, it’s pretty busy and I’m not sure it’ll age well but that’s a minor complaint.

Fantastic job. From photos it looks they addressed my main complaint about the room (they were too dark for my taste).

AKV was my original resort & I still love staying there.
I’m pleasantly surprised by the red sofa & I actually like it. I’m glad it has the lounge part, but wish they’d been able to fit an upholstered chair into the 1 br. living room to retain that additional comfortable seat we lost from replacing the sleeper chair w/ the TV pull down bed. The painted white/beige kitchen cabinets are nice & an improvement over the chocolate colored originals. The sleeper bed under the TV in the livingroom is a bit of a miss IMO - looks too much like a cheap flat pack cabinet IMO. I do like the art in both the under the TV & Murphy sofa pull downs. I’m sad to see the ostrich egg lamps are gone - that’s a little touch I enjoyed.
The tile backsplash in the kitchen is a mistake - too busy. I’m sad to see the jetted tubs gone although I expected them to disappear. In the studio I’m relieved that they kept the table & 2 chairs. I’m ok w/ the rugs they chose (I’m not a fan of the gaudy rugs they opted for at my other home resort’s refurb - the VGF.) On the whole, it wasn’t as bad as I feared. We typically stay in Jambo & I’m very curious to see how the Kidani changes will translate into Jambo’s layout - especially since Jambo 1 br.s only have the 1 bathroom & that bathroom only has a shower over the oversized tub w/ no walk in shower.
Fortunately the big pull for me at AKL/V is what I can see from my balcony, so as long as there are animals to watch from my balcony I can live w/ the interior redesign changes.

2. Love the Overall vibe, it looks almost like a bit before but nicer and newer
3. Everyone keeps saying they kept the desk and dresser and table but that dresser is clearly brand new and the desk and table have no scratches whatsoever; I think they’re either heavily refurbished or replicas.
4. Master bath is my least favorite; they tried with the tub but it’s still cold
5. I *Love* the map on the pull down and the fact that they didn’t put IP in the picture under it. It’s fantastic.
