Are the animals less active in December? I am trying to decide where to stay but don't want to stay there if the animals are inactive due to cold.

I'm from Ohio, I don't think it's ever truly "cold" in WDW! (j/k) We've been there in Nov, Dec, Jan, and Feb and they have been just as "active" as ever. They are grazers, so really it's a lot of wandering around and eating, but quite awesome to see off your balcony!

Not real sure about specifics, but they do feed them right in the middle of the savannahs in front of the rooms, so they usually do at least come over during feeding time. We went in October last year and saw allot. We were in the Zebra Trail facing the Arusha Savannah.

When we did out Sunset Safari in Sept the animal keepers said in winter the animals get MORE active-its cooler and they can play around more.

Have fun!

AKL is our favorite and everytime we have been there we always see animals outside of our room. You are going at a very nice time of year weather wise and will find the animals to be very active.
