We are doing 3 days at Disney and 3 days at USF this trip.We are Disney veterans, have been to Universal 1 time, last year.Which park is more manageable on a Sunday(April 18th)?There are probably 5 major things I'd like to do at AK,then leisurly tour in the afternoon. At Universal there are probably more attractions we'd like to do,but I'm thinking it MAY be less crowded then AK?What would you do?::MickeyMo

Animal Kingdom is a new experience everytime we go and that's because of the animals. So, even if you are a Dis vet it can still be very enjoyable each time you go. It's also more of a leisurely place to roam around in and so you don't get as stressed out.

If you are staying on-site at Universal with Express Ride access you have plenty of days allocated for that experience without adding Sunday to it.

If money is not an object with tickets then I would do morning at Animal Kingdom and afternoon at Universal if you really want a full day.

You really can't go wrong either way because afterall you get to enjoy a park. You could let your family vote on it.

I am among the minority on this board that really enjoys AK as much as other parks - we think it's great. What amazed us, being from Tampa and Busch Gardens vets (worked there in HS) is how easily Disney outdid Busch at providing great vistas to view the animals. We really though that BG's excperience would prevail here, but no contest. And my DD7 isn't much for coasters, but loves thr PW Wild Mouse coaster in DinoLand. Pocohantas' show is also classic Disney

I find it hard spending an entire day at AK.

We're not really into the live shows, and we have no kids so we pretty much avoid Camp M. Dinsosaur, Safari, Tough to be a Bug, Kali Rapids and the walking animal tour and we are done.

If I was choosing between the two (without the option of just doing more MK) then I would say check out Universal.

Your schedule looks much like ours this year. We are also planning on 3 days at Disney and 3 at Universal. We've decided to skip Animal Kingdom and probably MGM but I'm still thinking about it. :)

I'm not sure how crowded Animal Kingdom ever gets since it's the least popular of the Disney parks but considering the narrow walkways, I would think that any crowd would be difficult there. Are you staying onsite at Universal? FOTL will certainly help you avoid a lot of the crowds. Don't forget that there will be two new attractions there too!

Anyway, my instincts tell me that Animal Kingdom would be better on a Sunday if you don't get FOTL at Universal but I'm curious to see what others say.

AK is open 9-5 and USF & IOA 9-7

I would go to USF for the morning and then AK for the afternoon if you want to 2 park it

If you are staying onsite at Disney why not go to USF/IOA on Sunday and then take advantage of EMH on Monday at AK?
