Hi All.

Looks like AK and BW have the least pts needed for Jan. Has anyone stayed at either? Pros/cons?

TIA

The BWV standard view and the AKV value villa both get booked up by members at 11 months out. Since you are just thinking about doing this now, you are probably too late to get either of them.

The problem you face is: (a) at boardwalk, there is a small number, less than 20% of all rooms, that are at that lower point cost standard view and they can often be difficult to get unless reserving 11 months or so out; (b) likewise, the low point cost "value" rooms at AKV are an even much smaller number, are only in the Jambo building, are "value" because they are smaller rooms than others, and can be difficult to get unless reserving far out. Thus, if you are going for either one of those, you should find an owner of the resort now to rent from to see if you can get a reservation.

If I were choosing between Boardwalk standard view 1BR and AKV value (your apparent choice) I would choose BWV because of location and larger room.

If I were choosing between Boardwalk standard view and an AKV 1BR savanna view at Kidani, I would likely choose AKV because of the animal view and because those 1BRs are huge.

If I had to choose between AKV 1BR savanna view at Kidani and a BWV preferred boardwalk view, BWV would win 70% of the time because it is the best view on site.

Boardwalk all the way... Location Location. Above posts are correct, may be hard to get either, I would see what is available and just take it. You will enjoy either.

We own at both BWV and AKV and have stayed in both std view 1 bedrooms. Although I like the location of BWV better I don't think the room is nearly as nice as the AKV 1 bed std view. I'd go for that in a heartbeat.

I like AKV Kidani for the 2 bathrooms in the 1 bdrm unit and the savanna view is so fun and relaxing.

akv all the way for the relaxing feeling of the resort and the animals ofcourse

When we bought AKV points, I thought we would always book savannah view, but it has turned out that the value villas do appeal to me a lot. Yesterday I found out that I would need 2 studios one for me and one for DFs for 3 nights in January, and I was thrilled that there were still 2 value studio rooms available for the stay. We're still in the owners booking time, but late in the period. I'm not sure that the value villas are as popular with owners as sometime it is portrayed.

For the 3 nights after the above stay, I'm trying to decide between a 1 bedroom BWV, and AKV, Kidani. I'm out of AKV points to use, so will have to wait until the 7 month mark to see what's available.

PS. To the OP...the locations and experiences of BWV and AKV are so different, I would think it's possible to decide which you want to be at. I know my DF's (above) LOVED Animal Kingdom more than another other park, so that's where I wanted them to experience. The DCuz who will visit me after them, really doesn't have a preference, so I'm able to wait and see what's available.
