Animal Kingdom Opening Early

I remember a few years back they used to open Animal Kingdom discreetly about 15 minutes early. Do they still do this?

They did it for us in 2011 but in 2012 they held us at a rope past the Oasis.

If it's of any difference, it was pouring rain when the park opened in 2011. We rode Everest 6 times in a row at rope drop, in the rain. LOL!

When we were there in March, they started letting people in around 8:50am for a 9am opening. We were quite a ways back in the line (despite getting there at 8:30), so it was nearly 9 before we got to the gate. Don't know how consistent that is though, it might just depend on when they get all of the attractions and areas ready.

This past Thursday we were let in at 8:47am with no second rope to wait at after the turnstiles.

We were there Monday for a school field trip and they didn't start letting people in until 9:00 exactly.
