Animal Kingdom On Saturday ?

We will be at WDW JUNE 3-10,I have a rough plan in mind.The only day we will have time to go to AK will be on JUNE 4. We visited in late MAY 2000,it was hot,crowded and I was somewhat disappointed.We left early in the afternoon and had seen almost everything.I was'nt planning on going this year,but will probably have some extra days left on our tickets and my children are 7&9.Are the crowd going to be a nightmare,Anybody have any advise or opinions?
