I know technically this should be in the Dining forum (sorry!) but this question wasn't getting any love over there... so before I get kicked out of here can anyone say if it's just me who can't make any ADRs in AK on 8/22? I can get one any other day that week, just not on Thursday. Do you think something is going on? I have a plan that includes AK for that day, so I figure if I need to change it all around I should do it now. Thanks!

I just searched for 8/22 and plenty of times came up for Tusker House and Y&Y.

Whaaat am I doing wrong? I see Rainforest and a Tusker for 4:15 or 7:20 but I don't see dinner at Yak or Tiffins (which is what I was looking for)

Lol, forgot to mention that there's 5 of us. Duh. I see Y&Y times for 2, just not for 5. Mystery solved. Still weird about Tiffins, though. I like that place. Patience, I guess...

What is your party size? That can definitely impact availability. I would just keep checking back periodically until you get the reservation you want.

Yeah, duh... it's 5. Lol.. whoops! Like I said above, though, no Tiffins... weird. I guess they'll offer it later? Maybe? Who can know? I think Disney is mysterious on purpose, man.

Try looking for 6 instead of 5. Sometimes the Disney site is weird about odd numbers when it comes to dining...

Good one! Alas, no... nada for Tiffins or Y&Y. Out of curiosity, what would you do if you had 5 people but a reservation made for 6. Pay the 10 bucks? Or modify the reservation at some point? I mean, if it doesn't let you initially book for 5, would the system let you change an existing ADR to 5? I can freely admit that not all cylinders are firing with me this morning, so sorry if the answer is obvious!

You can just show up with fewer people. As long as at least one person shows for an ADR, you're not charged the no-show fee. Some people do call the dining reservation line after making the initial reservation to change it to the right number, just out of courtesy for other trying to book I think, but it's not necessary.

Ha! I didn't know that. Thanks! I'll file that away in the useful Disney info folder. I tell my husband all the time that I learn one new thing about Disney for every 3 hours of research I do. Which sounds crazy, but we all know how you can kill lots of time diving into the forums and Disney blogs, right?

Don't think so. Nothing comes up for a party of 2, 4, or any other number.

I agree, I don't think it's been loaded yet. When I didn't see any for the other restaurants I got concerned. I think they all may have been loaded late...? Who knows... at 6:00am I have no idea what's going on. That's the middle of the night for me!

They kind of have to have that rule (no no-show as long as someone shows up) since at least one of their restaurants (*cough*'Ohana*cough*) NEVER finds availability for 1 and I've heard has issues with any odd numbered party. I travel solo, but pretty much always search for 2 since other than Beaches and Cream where I could be seated at the counter, I'd be at a 2-top (at least) anyway - but I would never search for more than 2 if it's just me. I'd imagine if they start to get a rash of parties of any size reserving for more than one extra person (to bring an odd number to an even number) we might see a crack-down...but then I will be protesting mightily that they need to fix the system at 'Ohana in particular because it's not fair to exclude solos or charge them for a person that never existed other than to make their system happy.
