I am doing a trip to the world in May, I am staying at AKV, I need to get to Contemporary for breakfast at Chef Mickey's, is there a bus to the TTC. I could catch the bus to MK, then walk to the monorail and catch it to Contemporary too. I wasn't sure of my options. Any info would be great!!:goodvibes

I would take the bus to MK & either hop on the monorail to CR or I believe there is a walking path directly to CR from MK.

I think this is your best bet, but someone else might know better....

Just remember to schedule your time accordingly. AKL is a bit of a distance from CR (but not too bad). I would allow yourself 30 minutes of travel time (waiting for bus, getting to MK, walking to CR/or taking monorail.

If you are going during a busy season, allow yourself a bit more time in case of bus crowds.

you should catch a bus to MK and either walk to CR, take the monorail to CR, or take a boat to CR. The quickest would likely be the walk. The bus station is on the MK side closest to CR, so depending on where your bus stops, you won't have far to walk.

I would take the bus to MK and walk over to the Contemporary.

Personally, I would take the bus directly to the Magic Kingdom and then transfer to the resort monorail to the Contemporary. I don't think Disney buses go to the TTC from the resorts. You could also walk from the Magic Kingdom to the contemporary it really isn't that far maybe a 10 min. walk. You might consider taking a cab as well. I don't think it would cost much more than $10 and then you wouldn't have to allow so much extra time to travel there. Good luck and have a great trip!:thumbsup2

Thanks everybody!! Do they have cabs out in front of the resorts, I can't remember??

Most likely they will, but you could also arrange for one the night before through the front desk or concierge!

If time is an issue, I would take a cab. We used a cab from AKL to the Contemporary in '06 for a dinner reservation, I think the cost was around $14.00 Don't get me wrong, my family and I use Disney transportation all the time and find it pretty efficient, but to ensure you will be there on time, take a cab.

There usually is one or two cabs sitting at AKL, but you can either stop by or call the Valet desk in the morning of your breakfast to arrange a cab for your party. Cabs are dispatched rather quickly in Disneyworld.

Getting there will be no problem - we did Chef Mickey's while staying at AKL. Timing is the only issue. Bus to Magic Kingdom, monorail to Contemporary is the best, IMO, unless you don't mind walking the second leg. However, you need to build in wait time for the busses and the monorail. Plan to arrive early; you can always browse the stores at the Contemporary (they have a great pin selection there, if you guys collect/trade).

If you can't afford the time, then yes, you'll need a cab.

We have ADR's at 9:30, so we may try to get a cab just so we don't have to get up so early.:goodvibes

well, I was at AKL villas last week and was going to go to SSR for a massage, which is RIGHT around the corner, the taxi would have cost $20 bucks. so it would probaly be more then that now.

I would go the bus route to the MK, being the buses leave for the parks from the resorts 45 minutes early. Just make sure you get the first one! then it is only steps to the Contemp!
