We are trying to decide where to stay next summer and right now it is between the Beach Club, Polynesian, and Animal Kingdom. I think the best resort for us is the Polynesian since we all like MK and Epcot the same and just walking to the TTC is so easy for transportation. I took a walk around the Beach Club and really liked its proximity to Epcot, but didn't really care for the theming. Its still on our list because of the proximity to Epcot. AKL is our last resort pick. If it wasn't for the theming, I wouldn't even bother because it is SOOOO far from everything that we like doing.

How long is the bus ride from AKL to the MK, what about Epcot?

Thanks!

My Passporter says:

MK is 20 min
Epcot is 15 min

Keep in mind that both Poly and BC share bus systems with other resorts and AKL does not. Also that BC does not have a food court.

When we stayed at the AKL, the bus ride to the MK was around 15 - 20 minutes. The ride was shorter for EPCOT and shorter still for MGM.

We visit the MK and EPCOT the most so the Polynesian is our favorite. But AKL was very nice to stay at for a 'change'. :thumbsup2 The BC is nice but...the theming is a bit 'flat' to me.

I've stayed at 2 monorail resorts (Polynesian and Grand Floridian), the Wilderness Lodge, the Animal Kingdom Lodge, Caribbean Beach, and Port Orleans Riverside; honestly to me, the bus rides all felt the same. I guess once I'm on the bus, I don't think too much about the time and I don't look at my watch to see how long the ride takes. lol

We love the Polynesian because of the VERY easy access to the Magic Kingdom (we usually take the boat across to the MK unless we happen to already be in the GCH for a meal or something, then we take the monorial) and the short walk to the TTC for the Epcot monorail.

Other than that, I personally wouldn't base my decision of which resort to stay at, on the bus system. I've had very short waits and very long waits for the bus, at each of the above resorts.

As far as AKL being the farthest from everything, that may be true but like someone already mentioned, they have dedicated busses that don't share with any other resort, and I didn't mind the rides to the parks at all :)

Having said all that, I'd recommend the Polynesian (of course!)! :sunny: :cool2:
