Animal Kingdom in the rain?

We have park passes for AK tomorrow. Looks like some rain in the afternoon. Any strategies? Normally we’d just head back to the hotel during rain but tomorrow’s my birthday so I would reallllllyyyy like to ride everything I had hoped to.

All of my best Safari rides have been when it was raining, so that's an option!

try and do EE and Kali before it's forecast to rain. I see only 30% though so I wouldn't worry at all.

Our last park day in December last year (and probably forever) was Animal Kingdom on a rainy day. Try to remember your umbrella, and have a poncho, and be in the park all day. Rain doesn't have to ruin things, just do all you can

If there’s no lighting and just rain the outdoor rides will stay open. It’s the lighting that will cause things to shut down

It rained off and on during our AK day last year. Just pack a poncho and you’ll be fine. If you have a stroller, a rain cover for that is also invaluable. None of the outdoor rides shut down for us because there was no lightning. Riding EE in the rain at night was actually quite fun.

Bring an umbrella. Great for the sun when it's not raining. Great for the rain when it is raining.

I'm seeing your Saturday post on Monday. I do hope you went to AK in the rain on Sunday. Our best AK experiences have been in the rain. The animals are so much more active.

Thanks all! Rain was off and on in the afternoon but we dogged it the bulk of it by having lunch in Satu'li Canteen. Wore our disposable ponchos. Our favorite QS restaurant in the entire resort. Mobile order was super efficient I was impressed. Had a great day (only spent about 5 hours in the park) and got to do the Safari, EE, walk Gorilla Falls and Flight of Passage plus a stop at Nomad Lounge for a birthday cocktail.

Glad you had a good experience. We've never had issues with rain at AK. Light rain off and on. We just make sure to get EE done early. Everything else tends to still run in the rain. The safari was fun in light rain.

one of our favorite days ever at animal kingdom was when it rained. everything was a walk on and it creates a great atmosphere.
