We've never been to AK, so I have a few questions:

1. Where to get good or decent coffee? Does the Kusafiri Coffee Shop have good stuff? Brewed coffee or espresso drinks?

2. Do you have a favorite restaurant there? I think we'll try Flame Tree bbq, but maybe Tusker house rest.

3. What is your favorite snack at AK ?

Thanks :simba:

Good coffee is pretty difficult to come by at WDW. Flame Tree and Tusker House are both great; I like Tusker House just a little better.

We both enjoy the Tasker House very much!

I like Mickey Bars no matter which park we're in.

Bobbi :)

AK is one of the few places inside WDW you can get real coffee. Well real espresso and cappuccino, anyhow. There is a stand up by the front of the park (possibly right outside the main gate, or right inside- brain not working today). They also have the capp and espresso at the Bakery inside the park.

And Tusker House gets my vote as well.

Can't answer the coffee question. Since I learned that WDW serves mostly nescafe (instant coffee), I've started toting my own pot, grounds, and filters to the resort.

As for CS....FTBBQ USED to be our favorite Cs at AK but the quality has gone downhill. Of course, we're a family of southerners and we tend to have extremely high expectations for BBQ. The ribs were tender, meaty, and delectable the first two times but after that they were overly fatty and greasy so we try to avoid it. I really like tuskers house. Not too hard to find seating, plus its air conditioned unlike FTBBQ. I thought the food quality was just above the standard. My daughter and I fought over the chicken salad. DH claims the rotissere was so so. On our last trip he opted to skip CS at both AK and MGM and eat sandwiches in the room so I guess you have his opinion of CS faire right there. I'd like to try pizzafari on our upcoming trip, but with my mom and grandma in tow I'll just eat wherever the majority wants to go.

I have another AK question to add to the OP's questions:

I remember reading on the disboards about smoothies at AK which come in a souvenier cup and count as a snack on the dining plan. Anyone know which place in AK sells those?

We have always enjoyed Flame Tree every time we have been there. Dont do coffee so I can't help with that. And the sweetpea swears by the MIckey Bars for snacks.

We're not coffee drinkers so I can't help with that. However, for all you tea drinkers there is a great tea cart not far from Kali River Rapids.
Next trip we'll be trying Tusker House. We ate at Flame Tree BBQ and thought it was awful. My DS19 did like his chicken sandwich. The rest of us got either chicken or ribs and they were dry and tasteless.

OP here, Thanks for the replies so far.

I did finally find out that the Kusafari Coffee Shop and Bakery has espresso coffee drinks!

We were leaning toward Flame Tree, but my have to go to Tusker House instead...seems to be more well liked.

Yummy...Mickey Bars are yummy in every park!
My 2 DDs love Minute Maid frozen lemonade drinks, too!

Never drank coffee at AK so don't know about coffee.
I also prefer Tuskers. Great food and lots of it.
Our favorite snack was the Petrifries (Mc D's fries) :thumbsup2 they were very hot and fresh which made them taste better than any Mc D's fries I've ever had BUT they weren't on the DP as a snack. We paid OOP and used our snack credit to get a drink.
