Animal Kingdom Current Rope Drop Timing

We plan to be at Animal Kingdom this coming Tuesday, January 14th. I've read that Disney previously was opening the park and letting people into Pandora around 30 minutes before official park opening. This allowed for standby waits without FP people slowing it down. Then I saw over on EasyWDW https://www.easywdw.com/easy/blog/d...sage-9am-rope-drop-with-later-actual-opening/ that back in November Disney let people into Pandora only after the park open at 9:00. This obviously makes a big difference if you want to rope drop both Pandora rides. For those of you that have been there at Rope Drop this week or in early to mid-December (pre-christmas rush), what has Disney been doing with rope drop?

I sort of have fast passes for FoP. I have them for the 5 of us but my mother just decided to join us on this trip for a few days. Due to the joys of fast pass, I of course can't get fast passes for her to match mine. I called Disney and they couldn't help but said I should check with Guest relations in the park. I'm going to have my mother check in Disney Springs the night before to see if they'll help her with fast passes. Anyway, I may want to rope drop FOP to make sure we can all ride but I don't want to spend an hour at 9:00 to do that. Our flight is getting in at 9:45 the night before so we probably won't get to sleep until close to midnight, making a very early arrival difficult. We can probably try for an 8:00 arrival, but earlier than that may not be doable.

I am in nearly in the same boat as you are, our flight comes in late from Chicago the night before our planned rope drop at AK for an EMH at 8am. We have FP's for FoP for later that day, but would rather get that ride done early as we also have a FP for EE at 945am. I am hopeful we can get up and going and to the park by 7-710

The early morning rush at AK still exists and for good reason. The last time we were there at RD, which was early last fall before we got comfortable enough with refresh to not worry about RD anymore at any park, the park opened at 9, they let the crowds in at 815 and let them go directly to FoP. By 845 the line was over 2 hours. Ive watched it over the past few months, as we now live in Florida and go to the parks a great deal. We really enjoy AK in the early morning particularly for the Safari but if you dont RD FoP youll stand in a long stand by line without FPs. But the lines in the early morning still appear to be rather long. And they dont dissipate too much. That attraction has long lines regardless and rightfully so. Id just try to get the extra persons FP sorted out. Guest relations at the park may be able to help you. Explain the situation and they might help you out.

They completely changed the opening Procedure for EEMH last fall and never 100% went back to the old one. The EasyWDW post seems to be the extreme but a 8:45 walk back to Pandora is more common now.

Following this thread. I’m going on Feb 24 for the first time and using EMH so I’m wondering what time we will be let into Pandora?
