Rooms aren't assigned until a few days before you arrive, sometimes not until you are checking in, so I am wondering how you know what floor you are on?
You only get access to the concierge floor/lounge if you have paid for it.
I don't think so-- we had to specifically reserve concierge, and actually we were on another floor (5th, I think) to accomodate our other room requests including a specific view, but still had access to the concierge lounge (they give you a special key card).
We really felt that the extra charge for concierge was worth it. We loved the sunrise safari and the concierge staff was extremely helpful. But if you decide not to go concierge, it it still a fantastic resort!
If you have reserved a concierge room, you'll be on the sixth floor. Otherwise you won't be, as the 6th floor is exclusively concierge rooms. With very, very few exceptions, (this not being one) you don't know where your room will be at WDW until you check in.
As the others have said, what type of room did you reserve?
6th floor have savannah views the same as the 5th floor although I'm sure some of the rooms on the 6th floor do have pool views. I prefer the 5th floor balcony as some have complained the 6th floor's view isn't as expansive with the roof hanging over above your balcony. I don't think there are less rooms on the 6th floor vs 5th as only part of the 5th is used for concierge.
