DH, inlaws and I are going to Disney in early December. We were wondering what experiences you guys and gals have had with the Donald's Restaurantasaurus (sp?)....

Also, what time is the 1st seating?

and

do they have the mickey waffles?

thanks!::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

8:00 is the first seating. I went in May and will not return. Out of all the character meals we've done, Donald's is my least favorite. The food was fine, but the place is huge and we had very minimal time with the characters. Each character came around once and stayed long enough for one picture. That was it. At all the other character meals I've done, the characters visited longer and came around at least twice. There are some other threads about this with many people having similar experiences. I don't remember if they had Mickey waffles or not.

Now you have two responses and two opinions. That's the way it works I guess. We've always loved it -- do agree that they seem to move the characters through quickly though. We usually do it either 1) first seating -- sometimes we've been seated around 7:45am -- so we had an hour to kill until the park opened -- thus not rushed and had plenty of time to see the characters. Or we've done 2) a late seating -- like 9:45, after getting to the park right away and doing rides until our seating -- by then we've had over an hour and a half of fun and are looking for a break -- so we've taken our good old time -- 50-60 mins.

The food quality and selection is fine....buffet food isn't 4 star dining, this is pretty good. Our service has ALWAYS been great....we've always had fun servers, even the time just the wife and I visited (we have 4 kids in tow usually - now 14, 12, 7 and 5).

We're doing a 3 day weekend this August and decided to not visit Animal Kingdom this trip and the kids were disappointed because we wouldn't go to Donald's.

Have fun.

Another negative opinion - The service was okay considering that the staff just seemed overworked. The place was very crowded. With kids in tow, I barely got through the buffet before the rest of my family was done eating - that's how long I stood in line at the buffet waiting. We were also stuck in a very dark corner. Too noisy, too dark, too busy. Maybe you will have better luck.

We've been twice and both times had a great experience. The last time we went, our server was a riot and had her whole section entertained. I would've dined there for that alone. Characters were attentive and we got the pictures we wanted.
Food was decent for a buffet. Not fantastic, but certainly good and filling.

Just a warning, this Character meal probably has the most divided opinions that I have seen. People either loved it or absolutely hated it. When it comes to folks opinions about restaurants and experiences, we tend to take them all with a grain of salt.....everyone has their unique experiences.

We love the place. WE have gotten good fresh food and fantastic service. Character were awsome there. We like an 8:00 Ps and then finish as the park opens.

Tried it last year and will never do it again. The place is not really set up to be a buffet and this leads to confusing and very long lines for the hot food. After one serving of hot food we settled for the cold because of the incredibly long lines. Also I found that there is so much stuff on the table that there is barely enough room for your plates.
We have been to numerous buffets and character buffets but IMO this one is not at all enjoyable.

We were there this past May and never again!!! We had the last seating. The food was terrible (some things undercooked, some things over cooked), many of the cold bar items were gone, character interaction was brisk, service was rushed and inattentive. We've been to MUCH better character breakfasts....even my kids weren't very impressed (and it was my ds5's choice for his birthday!)

Oh, and No, I don't believe they had Mickey Waffles.

We have done Breakfastosaurus 3 times - and loved it every time. It is true, however, that it is a large eating facility & therefore the characters aren't as interactive as other character meals - but twice we were there long enough that they came around twice. Our servers have always been entertaining & wonderful, and I've never had any poor quality food, it was always wonderful. I have not seen the Mickey waffles here, sorry! The 1st time we had an early seating around 8:15 & there were lines waiting to be seated & at the food. So the last 2 times we went at 9:30 & it was practically empty - and the food was fresh & hot.

Again - to each their own!

We had the last seating and we loved it!! We were among the last people there, they kept the buffet filled and hot, and the characters spent all their time with us!! We got some great pictures and had a wonderful time!

I have to say that our family likes Donald's Breakfastasuarus. But, we only have one child and she is starting to not care so much about the characters (almost 11). So, we don't mind if the characters aren't at our table all that much. We liked the food. We had a 10:00 seating last year and it worked out fine. We have one for 10:30 next month and it will be considered brunch. We do the attractions we want to do early and then eat. In fact, I was going to cancel the PSs I have since I made so many others and my dd and dh pleaded with me to keep it!! So, looks like we'll be there. Happily!!!

I debated on this one too, and I decided to go ahead and try it. Everyone has a different experience, and different expectations out of a character meal (and anything else for that matter). We are going in to it with rather low expectations, but who knows, we might like it!

Over the years, we've done all of the park character breakfasts as well as Ohana, Chef Mickey's and those at GF and WL. This was our least favorite, hands down.

We had a very positive experience last year as one of the later seatings. The food was hot and plentiful and the place was not crowded. We were not rushed out even though it was evident that they were beginning to prepare for lunch. The server even got takeout cups so my mother and aunts could take a cup of coffee with them. We are going again in a few weeks at the request of my nephew.
I have always felt that everyone should try a place for themselves at least once because what some like others do not like and vice versa.

We have been here 4 times. The first 2 times (last year) were great. No complaints.
The last 2 times I noticed the level of service going down. Our last visit here was the WORST & I don't know if we will ever return, at least until I hear some better reviews.

Btw---we always had the 8:00am seating in all 4 times. (the first seating)
