Okay. I have a question for all you Dis Veterans. One day of our trip, we're going to AK and taking advantage of the extra magic hour. We're going to stay there half a day, eat lunch at the Whispering Canyons Cafe and then go to MGM (I'm not a great fan of MGM so I prefer to do it in a half day). I need to know what time I should make my PS for Whispering Canyons. How long do you think it will take to do the "good" stuff at Animal Kingdom. Keep in mind, I'm using the extra magic hour and I'll be there the first week of Nov. Thanks for your help!

I would think a 1:30-2:00 ps at WC would be good. You should be able to do things in 5 to 5 1/2hrs at AK in Nov. Allow 30-45 min to leave and get to WC. Be sure to see Lion King in AK!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Oh, definetly Lion King is at the top of my list for AK. So is the Safari and Dinosaur, it's a bug's life. I was thinking about 2:00 for the WC. Okay, so say we go at 2:00, we finish by 3:30ish, get to MGM at 4:00, do you think that will be enough time for MGM? They haven't posted the hours yet for first week of Nov. What do you think?

I believe MGM will close at 7:00 (or maybe even 6:00) in November. The only problem with getting there at 4:00 is that you won't be able to see many shows. WWTBM, Indiana Jones, Beauty & the Beast will all have maybe one more performance each after 4:00 (and all at about the same time). If you're only going to get in a ride at RnR and see Fantasmic, then you're probably doing okay by getting there at 4:00. Have a great trip!:D

Thanks so much for your help. I think I'll try to get the ps for a little earlier so I have a little more time at MGM.

Is there any way you could do WCC for dinner after MGM instead of for lunch. Our meal there took about two hours, and when you add in transportation, you really loose a lot of park time by going back there for lunch. Perhaps lunch at RFC at AK, then on to MGM and have dinner after MGM closes. WCC is not really a relaxing lunch that you might want to take from a park, though my DH LOVES the place. We have done AK and gotten most of everything we really wanted done in about 4 hours, though we often like to spend more time there. I agree that getting in all the shows at MGM in the PM might be tough but you can see a lot in that time frame. Have a blast.

gjerseygirl,

I was thinking the exact same thing. Depending on how much you want to do at MGM, you may want to change your lunch plans. You can count on lunch and transportation at least taking 2 hours. If you have PS at 2:00, you definitely will not get to MGM before 4:00.

I also agree with the alternate plan, grab a quick lunch. I've heard good things about Flame Tree (they have barbeque ribs and chicken) and would be a good alternative to WCC.

Hmmmm. You know, maybe I will do that. I have to sit down and think about exactly what I want to do in MGM. Forget Indiana Jones (I hated it the first time). But I would like to see Beauty and the Beast, Tower of Terror, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, Who Wants to be a Millionaire.....you know in writing this I think I won't have enough time. Maybe cut down the time of AK or maybe I will do dinner at WC. Hmmm....sorry for thinking out loud. I really have to reevaluate my plans. Thanks for the help. (or maybe the confusion - LOL).

I agree with others,

Although you can do both AK and MGM - hitting all the highlights in 1 day, travelling all the way to WL for a meal mid-day is going to take up alot of time. I would consider doing WCC on a day you will be in MK - a short boat ride away.

I am having the SAME problem! I have four days in WDW--2 in Universal, tickets for disneyquest and tickets for MNSSHP. I'm thinking now that I want to spend 2 full days at Epcot, 1 full day and the halloween party at MK, and then I have one other day to decide what to do. The last time I was at MGM, we did not have a great time. . .but, that was a while ago, and I've been reading so much, I think that has changed. I loved AK, but maybe there really isn't much to do there. Ugh. This is so hard, isn't it? I'm debating hitting AK, leaving and spending the rest of the day at epcot, which will give me 1.5 days at epcot.

Another option (if you can stand more advice :) ) is to do what we did once. Half day at AK, took the bus directly to MGM and had lunch at Brown Derby. We even got seated immediately without a PS! It would save you a ton of time.
Have fun!

REALLY!! Wow what a coincidence. I'll take a look at that when it comes out and see what they suggest. Also, I want to know the exact hours of the parks before I make my decision. The Brown Derby is a good idea but I really want to go to WCC (I heard its alot of fun and I want to see the WL (never been there). Decisions, Decisions. I've never been to AK so I want to make sure I get to see everything I want to see there. MGM---only a few things I want to revisit but I absolutely want to see Fantasmic. I'm really thinking on changing to PS for dinner at WCC.

I'm also going to WDW for 5 days...11/1-11/5. I hate that the parks are closing so early. I'm choosing to eat dinner after the parks have closed..then pay for a taxi to take us back to POR. I'm hoping this is a good plan.
