Animal Kingdom After Hours Event - what to expect

We have bought tickets to the Animal Kingdom After Hours event for the first week in March, and not sure what to expect. Are crowds significantly lower or just a tad bit? Is it worth the money we paid or should we have just bought a full day ticket instead? The event is from 9p-12a. Does anyone know how early we can access the park? TIA everyone for any advice!
