Animal Crossing Issues...

Hey Ian

Thanks for the Path Tutorial, it was really great. I will have to get over to your town to get your designs. It was really a good idea to make a second character to hold your patterns, I will have to look at doing this at some point.

Hi everyone!!

This is going to be long....so please hang in there!!! First off, I hope that I am still invited to other peoples towns as we have just had so many Wii connection issues. :guilty: I tried 4 times on Sunday to get my friend code and since it says it can not connect, I can not even get one. It is beginning to annoy both my DS and myself since he can not go visit his friends town.:sad2:

This morning my DS finally received an apple from one of our neighbors!!! We have been begging them and have been receiving lots of shirts, but we now have apple!!

Last night I caught 3 cans and 1 boot, 4 Football Fish, handful of Sea Bass and Horse Mackerels and....drumroll.....a Coelacanth!!!!! :faint: I have it swimming around in my living room right now because I am not sure if I should just donate it or what. Suggestions please!!!

Can anyone please tell me how we can find Wendal?

Okay...and now for some confessions. :guilty: I feel like I am getting a little bored with the fishing and shaking trees. What else are we missing with this game? I want to buy stuff for my house as I only have 1 chair that my DS bought and I still just have the cardboard box and desk lamp.:guilty: How do all furnish your homes? Our Nooks never has anything and Gracie Grace is SO expensive!!!:scared: . My DS was able to furnish his house (and earn points....what does this mean??) with the Classic collection and it looks wonderful. He bought a lot of things at the flea market. My DS came up with the Cabin Collection for me since it is Wilderness Lodgey. :goodvibes We just have no idea how to go about buying anything.

So I guess we are just curious...what all do you do in your towns? I don't know what there is to do in the City. We like the flea markets or playing hide and seek or tag with the neighbors and whenever there is a tournament think it would be fun. But otherwise...not sure what else we are doing.

Okay thanks for listening!!! :)

Every day your Nook should get new stuff, sell your native fruit for bells to buy it and catch fish! Most of us donate our first fish to the museum, but that's up to you! Buy a slingshot, sometimes you'll hear a whoosing noise, and if you look up you'll see a balloon - shoot it down! It'll drop a present for you!

If you send your neighbors letters, sometimes they'll send you a letter with a present!

DisneyYellowPonchos (Nancy) and her husband Conolan (Ian) are a wealth of knowledge! Hang in there, once you get your WiFi worked out you can visit other people and get all the fruit you want!

Plant any coconuts you find near the beach, soon they'll grow and you'll have coconuts to sell.

any other hints?:wave2:

OK - as a relative newbie, I'll try to help you out. 1st & foremost, your WiFi connection - I had the exact same problem. Try this( it got me connected)
1. turn off your modem
2. unplug the modem from the electric outlet
3. plug back in
4. turn back on
5. wait a bit for it to power itself back up again and then try to reconnect to the internet with your Wii

You're making a lot of us jealous catching that fish.....

Buy everthing you can afford to but at Nook's - when you spend 25,000 bells he upgrades, spend $90,000 and another upgrade, spend $240,000 another upgrade. Every upgrade makes the store bigger - so there is more to buy.
Don't wait to find the theme you want - fill your house with stuff.

buy and sell turnips
find the dig spots to get fossils
plant flowers & trees, plant more fruit trees
hit rocks with your shovel, everyday one will spit out bells

and finally - BUY THE GUIDE BOOK - I was amazed to find so much information in it - it is worth the $ - trust me ::yes::

Oh yeah!! We have that book! It is a wealth of knowledge for us. I just wish there were some other games or something to play in the town, know what I mean?

If we just buy the "stuff" from Nooks....what do we do with it in our house? Just buy to buy so he will expand?

Sorry to sound so dumb. :guilty:

:scratchin :scratchin Hmmmmmmmmmmmm,

Well the game is just what it is - maybe - IMHO - it's not the type of game you're really looking for. It proceeds in real time - one day leading to another. It's what you what it to be...
I personally am loving the relaxation I get from it. Collecting seashells, fishing, gardening, shopping, etc
Everyday I plan a new wardrobe to wear, write letters and send gifts to my neighbors. Decide what to plant & where to plant it. I redecorate my home and then sell stuff to Nook so I can pay off my mortgage so I can get a bigger house.
Basically, I hoping to mirror what I hope my retirement might be... :beach:

Oh don't get me wrong.....I do LOVE the game! I also finding it so relaxing as well. Especially after 8pm when the music changes. Its so soothing while I am fishing! :rotfl: I enjoy the fishing and shaking the trees. Its hard to walk away from the fishing because I keep wanting to know whats coming next!!! ;)

Another question.....do you cut down your trees? I bought an axe and have just cut down 1 tree just to see what happens but I don't want to cut down any to mess up the town (mess up....our grade is a D :guilty: ) But other pictures I have seen everyones towns look so nice and organized. Ours is not. Because we spend so much time fishing!:thumbsup2

Also, is there any trick to getting a coconut to wash up?

Thanks again for answering all my questions. Sorry to imply that we are not enjoying it. I just wanted to make sure that we were not missing out on anything!!! :upsidedow

after you cut down the trees, you can dig up the stump and then replant some other type of fruit in it's place.

you can also, just cut down trees to "beautify" the landscape and then plant new trees in other areas.

coconuts wash up on the beach - whenever :confused3 . I find that picking up shells and keeping the beach clear promotes more good things washing up - eventually you'll get one. Don't make the same mistake I made - coconuts need to be planted near the beach, not in the upper area of your town. Also, the cedar pine trees only grow in the upper area.

Hey Nancy & Ian, :wave2:

It was so great to finally venture out and visit with you last night.

Thank you so much for the all the fruit. I got up early this morning so I could start some fruit orchards before work today. I'm wearing my new red hat that I bought from your Able's today - looks great with my Jingle shirt.

The DISunplugged flag is waving at my gate and I'm starting to work on some walking paths too - gotta protect my grass ::yes::

Thanks again for your hospitality :thumbsup2

I'd be happy to share my coconuts :rotfl2:

(really, come visit when you're up and running!)

We have all the fruits, wish we had a Nookington's!

Yesterday our town had its first Excellent - I was so thrilled!!!

I didn't over-think it either, just planted flowers here and there, cut down a few of our native trees (cherries), planted oranges and apples and pears!

and have such a cute blond wig with a tiara!!pixiedust:

Okay, that is what I was wondering if I could re-landscape some areas because there seem to be a bunch trees in 1 place. I can cut down trees with no fruit but I can not replant them correct?

Oh and we are all set (I think...) when a coconut comes because I have been reading on where to plant them! Now we are just waiting to find one. I try to keep the beach all cleaned up and ready. :) Do you buy the flowers and trees each day that Nooks sells? Just to plant around? We have no idea how much we have donated to the town.

So....about my big catch from last night....should I just donate it to the museum in hopes of more coming or way? For some reason I am thinking that I read somewhere that if you donate you increase your chances of more coming?

Thanks so much! We will be over when we are up and running. Sadly, our town is not worthy of any visits. :guilty: We need to do some serious chopping and replanting.

How do you get the paths? I think my DS read in the book giving Wendell fish?? How do we find Wendell? Seriously we have no clue...I spent my first Sunday home going back and forth to the City looking for Joan and then my DS said oh she is in OUR town. Oops! :upsidedow

If you sell the coleacanth you can get a lot of bells now, or you can donate it and show it off forever. It's rare enough that I would consider it to have greater value as a trophy. If you catch another one cash it in and be secure in the knowledge that everyone hates you because you caught two and we have yet to find one.

Ian

I received my first coconut from a neighbor in my own town. I mailed some neighbors fruit (we have pears) and some of them shells from the beach; most of them sent back shirts and one person sent the coconut. My DS was sent a peach, but for some reason that tree didn't survive.

Lois,
It was nice visiting you yesterday.
As I said play time has been low in the past weeks because mommy needed to catch up with some ZZZZs and went to bed early for almost a week.
Your town looks great and that tiara is something special.

Nancy,
Sorry I didn't make it there but gates were closed and I needed to go to bed so that I could be awake at work.

Not a lot happening in my town, but I've had a perfect town for almost a week now. Very excited about that! :cool1:

That is how we got our coconut too. We have yet to see one wash up on the beach.

Wendel just shows up one day. Like today, I was walking around and ran into Pete (not DisUnplugged Pete), but Mail Delivery Pete. I believe it depends on your game. He showed up in my town almost three weeks after I bought the game.

AC is just a relaxing game. You can chop down trees to clear paths or when you remove the stump, plant a fruit for a fruit tree. This is a guarantee way of getting a tree to grow. If you want to buy the flowers and trees from Nook's it is up to you. I have just a few plain trees because they don't really offer much money. From time to time 100 bells or a present pop out BUT so do bees. I mostly have the fruit trees. I would cut down the cherry trees (300 bells each) and replace them with the other fruit which bring in 1500 each.

Make sure you are pulling up all of your weeds. That will help with the improvement value. And make sure you have spread your flowers around. Conolan (Ian) in previous threads explained about the acreage in the game and how each acre should have a certain number of trees and flowers.

If it is only you and your son, you can always create two more characters. I do agree with you though. After I have done all this, what else is there to do. I guess wait for the holidays. I am looking for the suggestion box for AC for their next version. I would like the opportunity to build a library, hospital or school. Maybe have a fruit market or garden market. Basically only have Nook's sell the furniture and new shops for other things. I would also like to have more than 8 neighbors in my town. If you look for all the signs you can see that more neighbors can move in. It should be interesting to see how much we are still into this game a year from now.

Lisa - get Wii Speak - brings the game and visiting to a whole new dimension that makes it like hanging out at a friend's house.

A bunch more to answer -

LOIS!!!! That tiara hair!!!! I got one for Zoe!

Mirelsa - not a problem. We've missed you . We'll try for another day - don't worry!

Quirky - we're playing Saturday. Sunday we'll be at Disneyland most of the day and all evening.

Mar - We had such a blast playing with you. Can't wait til you get your speak installed.

Melissa - someone in Lois's town was talking to me about you. Your trees are growing great!

I know there's more...

Our charm for the month is to have someone from another town plant 4 flowers in our town.

Bring flowers when you come over.

Lisa - if you want to try playing with us, we don't mind the bad connection. It's worth a shot to get some help with certain things.
