Animal Crossing Issues...

You will just have to wait for the ribbon shirt to show up somewhere-in the store, falling out of the tree when you shake it, digging it up, getting it as a gift-all the odd ways you get things around here.

Thanks for answering, Allison! :thumbsup2 Guess I'll just have to be patient and wait for a shirt to appear!

Can anybody answer my question about the Auction House? That one is still a mystery that I haven't figured out yet.

Thanks!
Gotta Get To Disney! :moped:

P.S. My daughter bought the shovel from Tom Nook before I had the chance  and it hasn't shown back up yet. Please somebody tell me that it will- I need that shovel!

Are we talking about Wii Animal Crossing or DS Animal Crossing?? Or both??

There will be more for sale, don't worry.

I think the auction house is mainly for you to put stuff in for auction. And if you have online friends come from other towns, they can bid on it? But that is just my understanding from reading posts on this and the Animalcrossingcommunity board.

Also, you and your daughter can share that shovel, I would think. Ask your daughter to place the shovel in your house when she is done playing for the day. And I think you will find in there when you start your next game. I can't guarantee that this will work, but it's worth a shot.

So how has the whole visiting others towns gone? What can you do if you visit? If you don't have Wii Speak can you still communicate?

I'm still building up my house - I want better furniature before anyine else sees it :rotfl:

I think we're all into the Wii Animal Crossing Gibson.

I bought white turnips today - how long do they last?

Last week I bought red ones, planted them, accidentally pulled them up and wasted my money ):

This week "Joan" didn't have red ones ):

OK, I got it! just started playing, I'll report more later ;)

Disneym2m and I have been completely rocking out with it!

People who don't have speak can use their keyboard or remote to type comments that appear on the screen with your character name, so you both can see them. I would say something and she would respond.

You can do all sorts of things in another town, plant trees, pick fruit, fish, shop (my fave) and just hang out! Talking to the town's residents is a hoot, as you can see which ones share traits with yours. And you never know - I saw ones I had met in the City, the next day! (You can't take a bus when the gate to your city is open and you can't leave town or quit the game until they are gone.)

We still have our code swap thread, if you want to try it out. PM or email me and I'll set you up with my and my hubby Ian's friends codes. We're in California, but we do stay up a bit late sometimes. It's easier to play when the girls have gone to bed.

Okay, I need friends. Anyone want to PM me and tell me how to add you so I can visit or others can visit me? I just got started and am taking my first bus ride to the city. Nooks is closed so I can't buy anything, which is kinda lame that it closes at 10pm....

I have high speed cable, but it's not wireless. Can anyone give a brief primer on how I would go about being able to hook up my Wii to this in order to go out and visit other towns?

Sounds like a hoot!

If that doesn't work, she can always leave it lying on the ground by a tree and it will be there when you sign on under your character.

Don, I'll use the send email feature to send you my info and you can get started. (My PM box is pretty full....)

I can have up to 3 other folks in my town at once, so if you and anyone else that has my info are playing tonight, come on by.

Did you get the Wii speak? Madi100 and I are going to try out hers with mine. I know M2M can hear me fine, even though she doesn't have Speak.

From what I can tell from my playing over the WiFi, you can't leave things in other peoples houses or take things from them. You have to drop it outside the house - kind of a theft/cheat deterrent. Your villagers won't take your items. Just make sure the gate isn't left open when you do this, as your friends could come in and pick your stuff up. :rolleyes1

Hi everyone! I'm just now getting caught up on DIS podcasts and heard Pete mention Animal Crossing. I have it for my DS (love it!!) and my youngest son just bought the WII version on Saturday (which means I'm up late at night playing!). Just in case anyone is interested, there is a wonderful website www.animalcrossingcommunity.com, that has great info on AC. I'm usually lurking in the Grownup Gamers forum. Many people have listed different guides on the City Folk forum to answer all kinds of stuff you never knew you needed to know about AC. WARNING: that website is just as addicting as this one, so plan to spend some time there! Hope this is helpful to someone!!

My DD has this game, and I'm going to try it. To be honest, I love video games, but I'm not sure I've got the hang of this one yet. I did a lot of fishing last night. I'm off to see what I can figure out and to see if Nancy is online.

Yay! madi and I hooked up and it was fun!!! I got her started on building an orchard with foreign fruit and she hooked me up with oranges - and possibly even a Samauri Suit, if she doesn't want it.

Madi - my hubby says he would really like to have the Samauri Suit, if you don't want it. :lmao:

We're trying to figure this out too. Gotta buy a router.

I'm fairly certain that you just need a Wii LAN adapter (USB to ethernet).
You can find these pretty much anywhere - e.g. Amazon for around $20.
Probably best to ensure it's compatible with the Wii as I doubt that just any old USB to Ethernet will do.
