Hi,

My eldest DD (will be 7 at time of trip) absolutely loves animals. Has anyone been on any backstage tours at AK, Busch Gardens or Seaworld that you would recommend? Or are there any other places in the Orlando area with animal type attractions?

Thanks...

Hi ,

I am not sure if this is what you are looking for and I have never been so I cannot really say how good it is.

Seen it advertised a few times and you do appear to be able to get close to the animals.

Hi

We went on a few back stage tours in 98 at Seaworld. We went on two an Artic Tour and the Shark Tour. To be honest you didnt really get much closer than you would if you were visiting. You had a tour guide who gave you lots of information on the animals. The only thing I enjoyed about the tours were I was able to stroke a Penguin on the Artic Tour and my dh stroked a small shark in a tank. Other than that I didnt really think much of them it took up most of our day and we missed some of the shows. It may have changed since then it maybe worth emailing them and asking them about thier tours.

At Busch Gardens they have and Edge of Africa tour to which you stand in the back of a flat bed truck and they pull up right by the Girraffes and zebra. The high light is you get to feed and pet the Girraffes! I thin kthey also take you on a more private tour of the animals.

Hi there and welcome to the Dis :)

My DD who is 9 year animal lover particularly likes anything and everything at the Animal Kingdom. There is a nice (if you like that sort of thing) petting zoo style place there, along with a multitude of great viewing areas for all sorts of animal.

She also really loved the Birds of Prey show :thumbsup2

We loved the Dolphin Nursery experience at Sea World.

You learn all about Baby Dolphins , birth and feeding. You are then taken to the Nursery pool. There is only six places and you get allocated in pairs to one trainer. You get to feed the Dolphins, babies and moms. You then spend some time playing with them and getting mum to do behaviours. You get a hug from the Dolphin, a kiss and you get to stroke his tongue and tickle his tum. I think it kasted about 1 1/2 - 2 hours. Cost about 40 dollars each. We thought it was worth every penny or cent. You had a lot more interaction than we did at Discovery Cove.
