Iv'e heard mixed responses about this excursion. The water being dirty and the staff unfriendly and not enough food. Me and my family really want to try this but wonder if the memories would be worth the cost. Does this book up fast or are ther slots available when you board the ship. If I could hear from anyone who has done this I would greatly appreciate it! What exactly do you do with the dolphins in the water? THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

I have posted a few replies regarding this encounter as have others. I would suggest doing a search "anguilla dolphin encounter" and you should find a number of posts. Make sure you go back a number of months as there are not a lot of posts on this but there are enough to get an idea about it.

Also there is a website for the company that does this excursion
"dolphin fantaseas.com".

Hope this helps.

I have done this excursion with my 7 year old daughter. The water is a little bit murky, but the staff explained that it was a more natural environment and supposed to be better for the dolphins. They break you up into groups, with one group going in with the dolphins, one with the stingrays, and one goes to the beach. With the dolphins you stand at the edge a little and they bring a dolphin up to each of you (about 8 in the group). Then you swim out into the tank and get to interact a little more with the dolphins (throw a ball, kiss one etc.) There is probably only about 20-25 minutes with the dolphins but my daughter loved it. We had never done a dolphin activity before. I am doing another one in Nassau and am anticipating it to be better. It books up fast though, and when I was told by the agent it was booked within five days of it being available. The beach was beautiful and we got to snorkel there also, they provided equipment. Lunch was lacking, and and excursion does take up most of the day with little time left to shop in the city. Whether it was worth it is a tough call, for a first timer yes, if you have done others than probably not.

Thanks for your response. We decided to go ahead and do it and hope for the best! It will be an adventure anyway you look at it. Its got to better than an excursion we took on Carnival that served us whole fish BBQ and something that was surposed to be chicken that was really NOT!! That excursion was over 100 PP and NOT worth it but now we look back and laugh at the memories. How often do you get your whole family to spend time with dolphins.(priceless I hope)

There have been many other posts about this excursion. We did this last April, IMO it was not worth the money, the place was filthy, and my DD was totally grossed out with everything except the 1/2 we spent with the dolphins. The stingray tank, disgusting, the crab races and everything else there, a waste of time. The beach UNBELIEVABLY beautiful, that was the saving grace of the day. The lunch, so so, the people who worked there, SO NOT FRIENDLY! This excursion cost us around $450 if I remember correctly. We could have had MUCH MUCH more fun with that money. But, there are many people here who have differing opinions, so to each their own.
