Anguilla is an island in the B.V.I located in the caribbean. Has any of my dis friends been there and can offer your thoughts and tell me more about the island and just give an overview to me? We are renewing our vows in May 04 and we are doing the "real" wedding this time. I'm getting a dress, pictures, cake the works. But we wanted a destination wedding/honeymoon spot. I have come to Anguilla at this point in my looking for destinations. And for a place on Anguilla i'm looking at www.capjuluca.com for the place to spoil us rotten. Any thoughts would be greatly appeiciated. Thanks

We went to St. Martin in May. You can take a ferry to Anguilla from St. Martin for 10.00 each way. You can see the island from St. Martin. It is only about a 20 minute ride by ferry. We didn't make it over there, but everyone said Shoal Beach is beautiful.
There is a forum called Travel Talk online (TTOL) and if you go onto the St. Martin board you can ask questions about it and someone will answer them or give you a link.

there have been many discussions of Anguilla over there as an alternive when you get to St. Martin. We are going in December it is supposed to be just breathtaking!

Thank you both. I had not seen that site and appreiciate you linking it for me. I'm so excited i do believe this is where my dh is planning our trip to. He's totally in charge of it but i've bombarded his email box with all sorts of info i have found on the island and cap juluca. Thanks for giving me additional fire power to work with.:)

Ann your going to st. martin or auguilla in DEC.? If it's anguilla would you please let me know all about what you found when you return. There's a site caribean online that has a forum i've been lurking on and getting info on it. Will you be staying on the island or doing a day trip? Ohhhh i hope you have fun and remember me when you come home to give me the lastest.

There is an Anguilla Mississippi but BELIEVE ME you don't want to visit...LOL!

we are doing the cruise in December and going over to Anguilla when the ship is in St. Martin, we are thinking of doing the dolphin encounter at dolphin fantaseas the ship has a package for it, look at www.dolphinfantaseas.com to get an idea how it is like, I know there ia wqonderfull book on a family that moved to Anguilla I think it was called A trip to the beach if I recall correctly, you could do a search on barnes and noble- it was people from the states that move to Anguilla to set up a restaurant.

Ann I have heard of that book and the resturant is Blanchard's it's highly tauted on the carbi online forums. Also, Mangos' and Olivers are among just a few of many wonderful resturants they talk of maybe you get to try atleast one out and let me know you opinon.

Cap Jaluca is a wonderful resort on a beautiful island.
One thing about Anguilla-if relaxing, sunning and relaxing
some more is not your idea of a good time-look to a
place with more activity. I discovered Anguilla year ago
when there were just some really rustic small hotels and
some beach bars. It's more developed now but still
wonderful. Do it!

I"m more into privacy not partying so it looked to me like anguilla would fit the bill. I was thinking of taking a day trip on one day to st. barts to get my shopping fix other than that. I'm into trying new foods and resturants and just relaxing and exploring a non touristy island that's so beautiful as anguilla looks. I have read a rental car is a must to explore. As we have never snorkeled we are looking into chocolat day trip to fit the bill for first timers.LOL Cap Juluca looked wonderful and i like to be waited on hand over foot so to speak but i see there are a lot of nice villa's on the island if we enjoy it and want to bring the kids back when they are older that would be the ticket then. We have never flown before so this will be a lot of first on this trip for us. Thanks for all the great infomation.
