LOL Steph :teeth:

Carol, my sister (who actually posts here on the DIS as 'Laura') stayed offsite back in 2000 and only had 2 days at the parks... I think she thought it was worth it! I know it would be for me! I've heard of a few who have stayed at the HoJos and loved it there. Great deals! How about the DtD hotels, nothing at the Grovesnor (or however you spell it?)

Cami, I am going to have to ask about pram and dismantling? I am just glad she has a way around otherwise...

Alan is swapping wives with Lou :o

Carolyn sounds like a heck of a person to deal with. I hope she does listen. I also hope Nick feels better soon!

Hi Lou, glad we didn't scare you off there!!! Have fun at work :)

Bethany the last time someone called me that early, I answered the phone "What do you want?" She never called me that early again ;)

:wave2: Hi Merry!! I felt the same way about my 5 day trip... wasn't long enough but it was enough to get a fix :)

Bethany, 5 days? Wow! I thought my kids were lucky getting 4.

Only the kindergarteners get the 5 day wekend. The rest of the kids have 1/2 day today, then a 4 day weekend.

well, my sisters cars been found........the kids told their friends at school (in the next village) about it being stolen and someone told them it was at the high school down the road......on the way home on the bus they checked, and yes it was indeed their car.......2 flat tyres and the ignition barrell (???? bit the key goes into) is wrecked but otherwise fine

Oh Lou, calling Loubon................ Tyres need to be changed!!!!

Cami, that is good news. Not great due to the damage, but good.

Carol, off site you have to have a way to get to the parks, either a rental something elase, the hotel shuttles are ususally not the best. If you choose to stay the the old Courtyard or one of those hotels near DTD, you can walk over to the bus stop. Disney does not encourage this, but it is done all the time. 3 days is a good time, you can repeat what you like the most and you can do one or 2 new things. And then do the beach last for relaxation. I would go for it. You know with all the drivers, you could hop in your car and drive straight through. It would be about 16 hours or so.

Gotta go switch the wash, later!

Cami, that is wonderful news!!!!!!

LOL, Marsha!!!

Oh and something to add... the bus system from the DtD hotels are pretty good... but do keep this in mind, if you are holding a ticket to a park, you are technically allowed to use the bus systems there so nothing to feel bad about at all. But we stayed at the Hotel Royal Plaza and thought the system was pretty darn good :)

Cami - glad the car was found - maybe some young kid missed their bus and took the car to school. (watch out for Lars kids, they seem to miss the bus quite often.;) ).

Everyone went to work and school. So far no more sick people. I'm celebrating!

Enjoyed chatting with some of you last night. We need to do that more often.

It's getting late, so I'm heading for the shower. I'm dressed, but I'm having a bad hair day. ;)

DD wants leopard luggage for her birthday. Any ideas of where I can find a few pieces at a good price? I was thinking maybe a roll around, a duffel and a cosmetic bag.

Marsha, I looked at the ones on ebay. Most are single pieces, so I'd have to mix and match. I'm afraid they'd look funny together. The sets I saw weren't the pieces she is wanting.

I've tried Wal-mart, Penneys, Sears, and several places online. I'm going to check at Target and Sams. I may run up to the airport and check in their gift shop but I suspect they'd be expensive there. I also sent an email to Sam Moon in Dallas and Bowsnmore that I found online. Sam Moon would mean a road trip, but I might be able to manage it one week day.

I still haven't had a shower. I think I better eat and get with it.

Hello Hello Hello:wave2: :wave2: :wave2:

Cami~I'm glad that your sister's car was recovered.

LK~My kids do miss the bus a lot but I haven't seen any cars around here with the steering wheel on the wrong side:p ;) :p

Carol~I've never stayed at the hotel you mentioned but I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Maingate East......it hs been remodeled since we last stayed there (6 or 7 years ago) but it was fine before the remodeling. We did drive a car to & from the parks instead of using theri buses though. We tried the bus once & it was kind of a pain to use......didn't run frequent enough...hard to find...

I still haven't had a shower
Melissa~A comment like that can tempt the tag fairies:teeth:

Elaine~If you sister is a Diser how come we haven't met her?:D You ashamed of us?:p ;) ;) :p

Can we hold off on Survivor, Apprentice and ER talk tomorrow until I get a chance to watch my tape.
My lips are sealed Bethany......:cutie:

Actually, I just showered now too.

I have had quite the day.
Both kids this AM complained of headaches and runny noses.
(i have had it myself the last couple of days too). Tempted to let everyone stay put, but no Mom of the Year decides to send kids out to school. (they didn't have fevers and with my DD the drama queen, you never know if she is really sick).

Drive them to school. Run to the store. Get home and notice that Kevin left his backpack in the car. Drive back to school and home again.
I start making food for the couples bunco I am having on Sat and I get a call from the nurse who says:
Kevin threw up at school (Bet that teacher just LOVES me) and while on the phone with me, Kaitlin walks in complaining of headache, etc.
I go pick them both up, get Dr. appt and we all have sinus infections. Plus Kevin probably has a virus on top of it.

Why does Giant Eagle have to make you wait 45 minutes with sick kids for a prescription?????? I am convinced it is just to make you shop while you wait (which of course we did and bought movies, so I guess it worked, didn't it???? ;) )
In the meantime, I spread all of our germs around GE, You're Welcome: LK:D

poor Kev keeps getting sick, I am doing lots of laundry: NOT the fun kind! ;) ;)

Hopefully antibiotics for all will kick in and tomorrow will be a better day! Bummer that we will miss all of the Valentine's Parties at school. I was supposed to help with Kevins.

Kaitlin needs to get better so we can go to our basketball game against LK's DD on Saturday or LK is really going to think I am avoiding her! (plus I am having people come to my house on Saturday for bunco!)

thanks for listening. I'll come back when I have more pleasant things to talk about and have time for a proper catchup.

What, talking about puking kids, poor customer service, and other illness isn't pleasant? Well I'll be danged!

It sounds like you are the lousy day winner for today. I hope all of you feel much better tomorrow and your weekend plans owrk out.

I got an email from my MIL, the person who is as close to her as a father passed away yesterday. He was in his late 80s, I believe. She has to go to England on Saturday to get all the things that need doing done. His wife just had a hip replaced and is still in the hospital, she was not doing well after the surgery and we are hoping that she doesn't give up now. These people helped raise the MIL, they worked for her father in the hotel and pub he owned, I have met them only once. I know there isn't muuch anyone can do, but if ytou have a moment, raise a pint to Les, he had a good full life, and would like to be remembered in a good way.

Steph, there was a special NASCAR insert in the local paper today. I tought of you and thought about mailing it to you but it is just schedules and advertisments.

FM definitely gets the "Had a Bad Day" award. Maybe you can get someone to bring home your kids' valentines tomorrow.

I remember when I was in elementary school, I was sick on Valentine's Day once. Little Stevie Gable came to my house that night, his mother drove him, and brought me a Valentine. And not one of the little 30 in a box kind. It was a regular store bought one. I have no idea where he is now but I always remember that card.

Good thoughts for Les, his wife, and your MIL Marsha.

FM - What a day! 2 years ago(2nd grade) Nick threw up on Valentine morning. Actually now we laugh about it. It was during Chapel and the kids were reading their Bibles. Well Nick had said he didn't feel well, so his teacher sent him to get a drink. (Samething I would have done in her place) Well he came back and about 10 min later threw up all over his desk, his Bible, and anything nearby. ALmost hit the girl in front of him.:earseek: This was about 10am. the day of the party. Well I went and picked him up. About 1pm he told me he felt better and wanted to go back for the party. I told him grandma was bringing home all his stuff since she was helping out. He was so sad.:( The kids made him a special card though and sent it home:) I pray your kids' feel better soon.

Cami - glad your sister got her car back. I remember one time I saw the police bring a guy to a convenience store to identify his car. He said it was his, Thanked them and started to get in it to take it home. They stopped him and said he couldn't take it becuase it was evidence of a crime:rolleyes: They then told him to call someone to come get him. The guy gave the officer the "are you that incredibly stupid" look and reminded the officer that HE brought him to the scene becuase there was no one available to take him anywhere. I was inside talking to the manager and we were laughing about that whole part of the conversation. (Small town area at that time.) Oh, the officer did take him back home only to go and get him again an hour later  so the guy could take his car home. :)

Well Nick is feeling better.:) Still grumpy and whiney though. I keep telling him to come up out of the whine celler, but I think he is enjoying it down there.:o
