My husband and I are going to Disneyland in September. We are timing it so we can see the Baltimore Orioles play against the Angels. Is it safe to walk from GC to Angels Stadium. We both walk/run everyday so the distance is not a problem. I'm more concerned about sidewalks and safety. Thanks

I'm not completely sure, but I think it's quite a hike from Disneyland. The stadium is on the other side of the freeway. It's not somewhere I'd want to walk, especially if the game is at night.

I believe that the distance is several miles between DL and Anaheim Stadium. Certainly more than I would care to walk.

I too jog daily and walk 5 days a week and I wouldnt have wanted to walk that. Last year we went from the Red Roof Inn to Angels Stadium. The cab ride was about 10 minutes (with some traffic). I didnt notice any sidewalks or lack of, however from what I remember there were some very busy roads and quite a distance. I'd suggest taking a cab. I think it cost us about $12.00, and it was definitely worth it.

I wouldn't walk it. The path isn't lit well and I don't recall sidewalks the whole way. If you were staying at the Doubletree I would say go ahead and walk, but since you're staying at the Grand California, I would encourage taking a cab.

ART (Anaheim Rapid Transit) might be a good alternative for you. I'd check their web site for schedules, routes and fares. The first third of the walk is sidewalks and hotels/restaurants etc, however once you pass under Highway 5 you move into a more industrial type neighborhood with a couple of 'Gentlemens Clubs' for the next third of the walk. The final segment is a pretty good little hike (about 1-2 miles) from the street to Staduim Entry.

What you might also consider is an Enterprise Rental Car. They will pick you up at your hotel and a full day rental is about $20. You could visit the Disney Outlet store, run over to Buena Vista (Knotts, Medivel Times, etc), run over to the beach or just make a grocery run with the rest of the day.

I wouldn't suggest walking. Its not for the distance. If you are used to running/walking daily it wouldn't be a problem. But the area isn't the best. What a previous poster said about hotels and such with sidewalks till the freeway is true. Once you pass under the freeway there is a lot of traffic coming on and off the freeway, plus the gentlemans club and railroad tracks as well. The area is not well lit at all. Also, most of the bulidings till you get to State College are abandoned and looking like trouble. Another reason to not walk is that they are doing lots of construction on that strip of Katella between State College and the freeway. Its just not that safe.
