Morning Everyone

Hope you are all well....

I had a decent weekend with some sad news - my friend had a miscarriage - it came as quite a shock as I didn't yet know she was pregnant. She is a very close friend of mine and it has hit me pretty hard.

Nonetheless I did enjoy my sign language lesson (2nd week, fingerspelling, weather and introducing yourself) and as a family we went to see Spider-Man 2 in an Imax theatre.

Now that Monday is here however I'm struggling to concentrate at work as I haven't heard from my friend since Friday (when I found out) and I just hope she is okay (she is the kind of person who you can't push to talk, she has to come to you...)

Anyways, sorry for such a 'downer' on a Monday but had to get it out I guess.

On to nicer topics, could anyone tell me please about the angel autumn exchange? We have our name and we've started getting a few things but when does it need to be sent by and what sort of limits (if any) are there?

Cheers and best wishes to you all,
Gaspodé

Such sad news Gaspode...sounds like you're doing all you can to just be there.

I WISH!!!
Someone to cook for me......wash my clothes....clean my house.......go grocery shopping for me .......watch my kids.........

yeah a wife wouldn't be 1/2 bad:teeth:

speaking of wives...

I was reminded (as if I needed to be) of why I love Mrs. AA so much last night.

We watched The Princess Diaries for the first time. It was late when it ended so she was tired; she's also sick and feeling miserable :(

I told her that I was grateful she wasn't a princess (meaning so that she was more attainable to me)

Without a beat, she said she would simply not have married and made sure she had me as an attendant.

I had to tell her I liked the way she thought. Here I am thinking of abdicating a throne for love  and she's thinking keep the money/power/etc and have the love with you.

Got to like a practical woman! :p

Busy morning so far... but I peeked in and see that Lars has a wife??? :rolleyes1

Melissa, sorry about your friend :(

Ok....so I left out the 'to the" in my edited quote!
sorry Lars.......note to self: never change people's quotes again....leave that to the experts like Lou and Steph! :teeth:

Busy day here today....lots of errands and lots of kids activities tonight. Kevin has his first pack meeting tonight for boy scouts and he is really excited. The pack leader just called me and asked if one of us would be interested in being a leader........I quickly replied NO! She tried again: sorry, but NO!
Aren't you all proud of me? :teeth:
Being a Girl Scout Leader is already overwhelming enough and I know if Dan volunteered to be a boy scout leader.......guess who would get stuck planning all of the stuff? ........::yes:: ME!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Hi angels and cherubs!

Lots I need to be doing today. I'm just not motivated. I did start up my morning walks again this morning, though.

I have a busy evening tonight. Amy has ballet and the final rehearsal for the grand opening of the performing arts center. Tomorrow night is the real thing. Not sure what we're doing for dinner tonight. Guess I should pull out the crockpot and throw something in it, so we can eat quickly between the two activities.

Guess I better get to work. ::yes:: Talk to you guys later. :wave2:

Afternoon All!

Gaspode - sorry to hear about your friend's loss.
the exchange has to be out by October 15 and is $20.

LK and Lars - I watched Wife Swap also - could not believe how some people live. I think the ultra clean household made out the best in the end. The sloppy mom shouldn't have gotten so upset - i would have been pissed if i came into a house (not a farm!) w/ 25 animals!

E - uh, yeah i did your cleaning for you.............;)

Gail - nice siggie pic!

Donna - just say NO!!! good girl!

My DH took a sick day today although it was more of a tired day off which means he is doing absolutely nothing around the house except play a new Playstation game. After I picked Shannon up from pre-school i took her to the Olive Garden for lunch, although i forgot my container of leftovers which was going to be my lunch tomorrow.:( Off to shop for DH's b'day presents.....

Hey Lars! How's the missus?
Well, so far today she's washed & folded a few loads of clothes, ran errands, made a pot of chili for dinner, made a large pasta salad to have in the fridge for lunches this week...................oh wait........that wasn't my wife........that was ME!!! :p

Donna, congrats on saying NO! I am very proud of you ;)

Now why do I get the feeling the guys are enjoying the thought of Lars having a "missus"??? :faint: :duck:

Missy, good luck with the busy day! I'm sure dinner won't be a problem for you... being that you are the crock pot queen :p

Thanks Lorraine for taking care of the house for me ;)

LOL, Lars... well I just hope someone appreciates all you do.

Busy day... should go... being lazy though and not wanting to work.

afternoon all....getting ready for a cub scout meeting. Tonight is knot tying......with any luck, the kids won't tie each other up.....stranger things have been known to happen.

Dinner here tonight is my very own famous crock pot roast. Cept I'm using stew meat and going to serve it over egg noodles ala MP.....what should I have for a side veggie?????

Catch you all at happy hour

Oh hush it, Lainey; that's a common stereotype about guys.

I'll have you know that most of the cherubs here would be satisfied with only pics of pajama parties and pillow fights.

Although Lars' missus does sound helpful; want to send her down to help while Mrs. AA is under the weather?

The only laundering required is ironing shirts. ;)

alan

good job donna!! i'm proud of you!!

Gail-love your new siggy

E! just wait for them to go to lunch and put the work back on their desks!!:teeth:

MP-I need to get on a morning walk habit, I've been going back to bed.....very bad habit!

Dinner last night was awkward as usual, the il's made comment on how they were going to take G to lunch Saturday (huh wah no one asked me)but since we had plans they didn't. *note to self have plans after every game*

I watched the build a house show and cried (such a sweet family) but I can't get into that wife swap show.

I'm hungry going to make some lunch

oh my, what have i missed today!

gaspode - sad to hear about your friend, i hope shes doing okay

Steph - thats how we practised! you knew you'd gotten it right if the person couldn't escape....talking of knots has just reminded me, yesterday we were sitting laughing at my niece trying to pull her socks off (she had on tights!) and it got us laughing about when my dad used to tie the feet of our tights together when we were wee so we fell over....used to drive my mum nuts!

Elaine - hows the busy day going? that seems to happen to my hubbie a lot as wel, take a day off and come back to a pile of stuff on his desk

Dinner here is sausage and lentil casserole, has become a firm favourite of my family

had a great day shopping with my sister got lots of things for the house

away to open the wine and wait on dinner being ready

see you later

pathetic whine here... busy day is going rather crappy at the moment. When I have taken on too much, a silly thing happens... the muscle in my eyelid spasms... so I develop a little "twitch" Doc says it is stress related and never to worry about it too much (unless it goes long term... doubtful that will happen again). It's almost at the point where I have so many teeny things going on I don't even know where to begin. The worst part is that 90% of all going really wrong isn't even mine... so, I'm just going to bang my head on the desk for a short while and get back to it again.

Bethany!! HELP!!

Quick question

G has decided he wants to be an Incredible Hero for Halloween

they have xxs xs s m l

I'm not sure what size to get

G weighs about 50 lbs

any insight??

I'm ordering online so trying to avoid exchanging TIA!!

Sandi, I’m sorry that you have to endure all the pounding as they finish your house. At least you’ll have a beautiful outcome in the end. Hope you are still taking pictures.

I didn’t watch the wife swap show. Allen hates reality TV., so I try to limit the ones I get hooked on.

Melissa, I’m so sorry to hear your friend’s news. I’ll keep both of you in my thoughts and prayers. That’s so hard!

AA, your story made me say “Awwwww!” She’s a keeper, that’s for sure!

I’m impressed that Donna has learned to “Just say no!” Are you giving lessons?

Gail, I like your new signature! Pooh characters are some of my favorites.

SB, mine loves to take tired days off, too. I always wonder when I get to take one.

Lars, sounds like your wife has been busy, oops I meant you.

E, you are correct. The crockpot queen threw some stuff together and it’s cooking away. Close your eyes for a couple of minutes and force yourself to relax. Sounds like you are under a lot of stress. I tell DH to get up and walk around once in a while when it’s all getting to him. Sometimes those little breaks can help a lot, even if it’s just going to the coffeepot or the bathroom.

Steph, anything green would be good with it. Fix green beans, peas, or a salad. By the way, DH found that when he taught what the knots were to be used for, the kids learned them faster. So now they practice by pretending to tie up a clothes line between trees or by hanging a tarp as a sunshade for camp. They seem to retain knots more if they can tie them to real life, no pun intended.

Star if you were a bit closer we could walk together, but I’m not attempting that drive every day. LOL! I’m no help with the sizing, but if in doubt I’d go too big vs. too small. Seems it’s better to have it a little loose than to not be able to move. I’m still searching for a long cape for Amy. I may end up making one, but I don’t want to. (Just say no, just say no!)
