Merry, call DCL now and add it to your reservation, and when you check in, have them note it if it's not there, and tell the maitre de and your head waiter. As much as I dislike DCL, I am jealous of you going to see the sun, the islands, and Castaway Cay.

Off to the grocery store for coffee or there will be 2 cranky people here tomorrow!

And good news from the mortgage guy, he just called, they have EVERYTHING they need, and all is good, so all we do now is wait.

Merry, I am glad that Amy is allowed to eat sugar again!! Very cool!!!

:wave2: Hi Bethany, not Marsha ;), & CS

Love that smilie Alan!!!

Marsha, I'm sorry you obviously had a bad experience. We had a blast on our last Disney cruise. Maybe partly because they have good children's activities and Disney themed shows? I don't know. It's nice to have family time and some alone time on a family vacation and the cruise was a great balance for us. To me any vacation with the mouse is fun and cruising with him is awesome.

I promise to soak up some sun for all of you. :sunny: It'd be a joy to do that little thing for all my friends on this thread. :teeth: The sun is out here today, but the wind is chilly. I'll try to will some of it to go your direction, Alan.

Oops. Sorry, Marsha. I'm doing smilies again.

anyone know of a good pratical joke? I'm in war with my so called younger brother and only have a few days to make this work(long story)

Steph--- Glitter... I would never do that to anyone. Making a mess at my own house is one thing, but I wouldn't send something like that without talking with the parent first. So sorry you had to deal with that.

I stopped at the dentist this morning after dropping AC at school. My tooth has been hurting so I thought I would make an appt. Well they saw me right then. Turns out I have a cracked tooth:( Next Thursday I have to go see the guy that will determine if I need a root canal:( :( If I do, I will have it right then. I already scheduled the crown appt. Ok here goes another $400 at least. How am I ever going to get money put back for our trip:rolleyes:
Well I'm off to get AC from school. Later:wave:

Merry, I think I had a bad cruise with DCL because:
A: The food was institutional, not what I had been used to from other cruises
B: Our waiter was AWFUL as was the assistant.
C: They had a long way to go to equal the quality of service I find at the resorts.

Would I go again on DCL? Maybe. I do know they have the best island experience of all that I have been to. But for the price, I would pick another cruise line first. Now, if I ever have any children around that want to go, then that would be different, although I hope they would take part in some of the kids activites. My nephew was not at all interested in anything offered for 10 year olds. He might change his mind now that he is a teenager and there could be girls..............

But no matter how I feel, I know you and the family will have a blast!!!!!

Don't stop waving on my account, I just glaze over when I see them!!!!!!

It's still snowing, the weather girl on the radio said the sun was coming out this afternoon, I think she lied. Guess my pre paid car wash will not be happening this week.

Alan, thanks for the sun!!!! I am watching the Two Palms web camera, at least its not too bad in FL today.

Hiya Everyone,

Ouch Steph! Hope things don't get too sparkly!!

LARS!! Great to have you home and great to see such lovely pictures *sigh* make me wanna be there now!

Marsha - Glad you are sticking around, in honour of that, this post will be (DIS) smilie free :0)

Congrats on the post counts to our two chatty angels :0)

Merry - Have a fabulous fabulous time :0) Will you be back before I need your help again? ;-)

E - I saw you looking on that tattoo shirt thread - you really are a wild child *nods*!

Hope everyone else is well!

I've been ill and busy the past few days so not very pleasant however, the one shining light is.....

We've booked our flights!!! Woo! Jon and I will be descending upon Philadelphia for two nights (just the one full day I'm afraid, or perhaps that's better for you PA angels? ;-)) on 12th November 2004, then flying on to Orlando on 14th Nov. We will return to Britain's (not-so) sunny shores on 26th Nov!!!

Hurrah, I'll sort out my countdown shortly *nods*

So.... all we've gotta do is sort out a hotel for PA (we will book our disney one soonish). Any suggestions? I'm probably gonna go through hotwire so mostly I'm wondering what area in PA to go for? I've found a great sounding one for $53 a night in the Historic Waterfront?

And more importantly - hope I can meet a good few of you in PA or WDW!!!!!!!

Cya,
Gaspode

Gaspode - We will be at WDW from Nov 12 - 18/19 hopefully. At the rate things keep happening around here we may have to cancel. Although DH says we will find a way to get there even if it means driving instead of flying. We have already decided to drop the Universal part of the trip to help make it to WDW.

Marsha - ok I'm lost. Did I miss something about smilies? Is that what you gave up for Lent? I have a feeling that you posted during the completely insane week I was having and I missed it.
Just in case I'm not putting any smilies in my post.

I am using my crockpot tonight and fixing a roast with taters. I was going to put in carrots but DH nixed them. Said he doesn't like mushy carrots.I actually peeled the taters myself!! (I usually make instant but thought real would work tonight.)

No, I gave up being mean. It is a sacrifice, cause I like it a lot! There is someone who continually posts waves for no apparent reason other than boosting thier post count, and it bugs me. So when I announced that I was going to be nice, someone else decided they could get me to break my resolution by posting more waveys and smileys etc!!!! But I am over that now. I am still being nice. I but the offenders on ignore, so I won't evenbe tempted to be mean.

I am making pork chops with fresh spinich and garlic stuffing, toped with melted cheese. Not bad for a one pan meal. I don't have a crock pot, and my slow cooker is in a box. I am getting pretty creative with the few pieces of kitchen ware I have.

I think the weather patern is stuck like Dora, just keep snowing, snowing, snowing. ACK.

Hello!

Sorry I didn't let you know about the trauma show. Matt was making a crossword puzzle with his spelling words.

Just to let you know I finally have AIM. My name is brernurse there also.

Have I great evening.

Sue

I never thought about the smilies only posts increasing the post count...ok another blonde moment:rolleyes:

We currently can't watch certain shows at our house because of grandma. It sure does make things interesting around here. Well dinner is ready and AC is leaving.
Later
:wave2:

Good afternoon everyone.

This is a real question, what is the difference between a slow cooker and a crock pot? I really thought they were the same thing.

Sue, I added you to my buddy list. I am breezycarol12.

I am fixing chicken frajitas and spanish rice for dinner. I bought some fresh fish for Thursday while I was at the store today.

Lars, did you post a trip report?

Only 4 weeks until our trip.

The only time I eat carrots is when they are mushy and mixed in with my roast, taters, and onions!

I like my veggies cooked beyond any nutritional value whatsoever.

We're going out for burgers. Meeting the in-laws because they are feeling sad that we haven't seen them in a while. Then we are rushing home to do more prep-for-the-trip. Maybe we'll get the dogs bathed today.

Cool! I hope you make it, we've been putting off booking for ages because of a lot of uncertainties so I now how you feel!

Anyways, nearer the time I hope we can work out a quick meet ::yes::

Cya,

Hi kids!

Just a quick hello....Matt needs the computer for homework. :(

.

I did too:confused: But then again I am the noncooking person:o

Carol, I used the terms differently because: my slow cooker is in 2 parts, the base, which can also be used as a flat grill and the pot, it is a large rectangular metal pot like thing. A crock pot to me has a Crockery removable round part (usually). My slow cooker also doesn't cook as slowly as a crock pot, things that people leave in their crock pots all day, are done in 1/2 the time in mine. I like it, but I will get a real crock pot when I finally move. I suppose if I had gotten married at a "real" wedding with guests and had a reception, I would have gotten at least 3 of them back in the 70s! 4 weeks to go for you, 2 days for MP, Gaspode is plannong November, and Carolyn. Hmmmm, I think I found the box my AP is in, tomorrow I am going to dig through said carton and see.

Alan, you are a true southerner, if it ain't mushy, it ain't dinner.

I will eat carrots anyway they are made. I prefer them raw, then crisp cooked, but I'll eat them mushy too. De-Lish.

Time to spend quality time with Pete. Have a great evening all. See you on the riddle in the morning.
