It was a good day today. The nurse said when they were turning him this morning he opened both eyes wide! The dr. said, "tell he he really did that". The nurse said "Indeed he did". LOL Then today I put my hand in his and he squeezed my hand and rubbed his thumb on my hand for 15 minutes! Then he relaxed. He was listening to his music so I kind of dozed off. I felt him moving so I looked over and he had his arm in the air and moving his hand. I watched him for a minute to see what he was going to do. Finally I put my hand in his and he squeezed my hand immediately and rubbed his thumb over my hand again. The nurse came in to clean out his mouth. You know how you close your mouth when you brush your teeth? Well the nurse called me in and he was doing that. She told me that is no reflex. He was doing that on his own. She said he is going to get better. It will just take time. I feel so much better tonight.
But they still haven't shaved him. The nurse said she would do it tonight before she left. It's been 5 days! Now they were shaving him every day in critical care so there is no excuse for this. If he is still not shaved tomorrow morning, there will be words. Lots of words. I don't really expect the nurse to do it. She has enough things to do without that. That is the tech's job. And he had better get on it.
I can't say this enough, but thank you all for your prayers and support.
