Angela & Matthew - Home Wedding 4/25/2009 & Disneymoon - I'm MARRIED!!!!

No, I don't have it yet but I love it. It does a really good job. Kind of makes me want to drop stuff on my carpet so I can use it :rotfl:

I can't wait to use it!! My dogs have suprisingly been good! :rotfl:

Small updates!!

I ordered my honeymoon ears!!!

I was going to just wait until I got to WDW to buy them, but I thought I might want to have them to wear on the plane! I did not get ears for DF though, because I know that he won't ever wear them.

I started getting R.S.V.P's back yesterday!!!:yay: I got like 9 of them! All YES!

I have my makeup trial on Sunday! I'm really excited!! I'm wondering if I should have pictures of stuff that like, or if she'll just know what to do... suggestions anybody?

Tomorrow I am going to DB to have my rehearsal dress fitted, and my mom has her dress fitting! I am going to order my bridesmaid dress for my brother's wedding too. He's getting married in September!

I just scheduled my hair trial appointment too. That will be Saturday, March 28th! I don't know if I've posted this pic yet, but I'm thinking of something like this:

Hey there...just dropping in to say hello. Hpoe you're having a good day.

Where did you get your ears? They are super cute!

I love the picture you posted of the hair!

As for the make up trial, I would have an idea of what you want (bold, natural, princess, whatever) and she should know from there...

I ordered the ears from the Disney Marketplace store on Ebay

Thanks! I hope my hair ends up looking somewhat like that! I always took pics of hairstyles that I wanted for proms and stuff, and I never thought it looked the same and I would be disappointed. So I'm using that pic as a "guide".

I don't even know what I want! LOL! I guess I should probably just find pics to give her an idea.

I would bring some pics of hair styles that you like so your stylist can get a feel for what you want. Yay for the ears!!! I feel they make us official disney brides :)

The shower went great!! Def fit for a princess: I was so excited when I got my invitation in the mail! The wedding and more importantly (LOL) DISNEY will be here before you know it!:rotfl:

You're right, I'm definately bringing my hair pictures to my hairstylist, but I'm going to look for makeup pics to for my makeup artist.

Less than 2 months now!!!!!! Can't wait!!!

Ok, so for my makeup trial, I don't really want to tell the makeup artist what to do because I feel she'll know best, but the knottie girls (yes, I'm a knottie too, I lead a double life:rotfl2:) think it's best to have pics. I found these pics of Eva Longoria that I'm going to give to her. Dark eyes, lots of lashes, and nude lips!

So hope that will work! I'll let you know how the trial goes!

When I had my makeup done for my wedding the artist told me to get MAC false lashes bc they are the best and hold the longest! I couldnt even tell I was wearing them! Not sure if you got yours yet!

Love your hair pics! I didn't bring pictures for my make up trial I just told her how I wanted it and she did it. Who is doing your make up?

So, this weekend my mom had her dress fitted! She looks so pretty!

I decided I was going to finish off the gift shopping! For my RB, I ended up getting him Super Mario Kart for Wii! He'll love it! I got the FG, RB, and GM gifts wrapped and ready to go!

Then I went online to order the memory box albums for our parents and it's no longer on the website!!! Apparently, sometime in the last week and a half it was discontinued and no longer available. So I frantically called all the Things Remembered in the area and one of the malls around here has 2 left! Woo hoo!

Ok, and then I had my makeup trial this morning, and I feel really bad saying this, but I was so disappointed. :guilty:

It wasn't like horrible or anything, but just totally not what I wanted, and I didn't like it.

It just doesn't look professional to me or something. The colors don't look right, I hate the eyeshadow colors, the lipstick is orangy (this pic is after I wiped it off). My skin looks too shiny, and this was taken 10 minutes after she finished. I'm just not happy with it. I wanted my mom to see it because I wasn't sure if it was just me not being used to it, and she didn't like it either. I know I should have told the makeup artist that I wanted it different, but I felt bad because it's not like I could just say a little more/less eyeshadow or a different lipstick... because I didn't like anything!

So now I don't know what to do. Should I just stick with her and deal and hope I like it the day of the wedding? It's less than 2 months away, everybody's going to be booked by now! Or should I just do my own makeup??

oh crap - tricky situation! my fear would be the shinyness on my face- my face does get shiny quite a bit so its the main thing i dont want to happen.

Do you know what kind of make up you want? And could you do this yourself and have the patience to do it on your wedding day?

I know it must be so hard, because i am like you, i find it so hard to tell someone i dont like it, or its wrong- but you need to look the way you want to look on your day, and you dont want to regret it! Is there a back up make up artist you had in mind?

Perhaps if you are torn, see if anyone else is avaliable and ask for a trial off them and then decide who to go with?

(i really like your eye lashes in those photos- that was done good! and you have a pretty natural face so you should worry to much about make up because your skin looks perfect! -i'd love to have skin like yours!)

oh and your mums dress looks really nice, the colour really suits her! great dress choice!

Aww i like your moms dress. Well whatever you decide for the makeup I will make sure i have plenty of oil botters for our shiny faces!! LOL I dont think it looks horrible at all, but def doesnt look like you just got your makeup professionallydone 10 mins before that pic.

The shinyness definately makes me nervous. I always get shiny pretty quickly too, so I definately don't need shiny looking makeup!! I don't know if I really have a look that I'm going for... basically myself, but better! The pics that I posted on Friday of Eva Longria were kind've a guide... natural makeup with dark eyes.

I don't really want to do my own makeup, but I just don't see paying for something that I don't really like, I think I'd rather look the way I look everyday! I don't want to be self-concious about it all day.

Oh, and the lashes were fake... which reminds me, I don't think she even used mascara!!

oh and your mums dress looks really nice, the colour really suits her! great dress choice!

Thanks! It is a good color for her!

Haha, I will definately stock up on oil blotters, hahahahaha! Ya, it definately doesn't look like it was just done professionally. I'm thinking I may just go to the MAC Counter and buy some good makeup and do it myself. I'm trying to find another makeup artist, but I don't think I'll have much luck in such a short time. I feel really bad though, I don't know how to tell the girl that I don't want her to do my makeup anymore! She was really nice.

First, I don't think you should discount finding someone else before trying it out. If you can't, then I think it might be a good choice to either have a second trial or try out several tries at home to try it out yourself. I have heard a lot of girls having good luck going to high end make up counters, getting a makeover done, buying the makeup and then hiring the artist to do it for them, especially with MAC counters. I don't know if this might work for you, but it's a non-traditional route to go that might get you what you wnat.

As for the make up itself, I don't think it looks bad, but it is also clearly not what you wanted. I think there are elements in all the pictures which were similar to what you wanted, but not all.

I think your eyes look nice, but they are definitely not "bold" which I think is what you talked about. You wanted bold eyes (I don't know if the Eva look would work as well for you as on her, but bold is what you want nonetheless) and then the rest of the makeup colors aren't right.

It looks like she might have put the make-up equivalent of pixie dust on you, but rather than making you look good it made you shiny. The lipstick being orangey may not be the lipstick's fault, as I often have lipstick TURN orange on my lips, but that can be prevented by putting a very thin layer of foundation on your outer lips, and then covering that with lip balm. Looking at the picture it's porbably actually a pretty heavy covering lipstick, just in a very light color pinky/white color, sort of like the pinky they put on when you do a french manicure. It looks like it might be natural-like, but the polish itself is pink.

ETA: You posted when I did. MAC is a great brand. And good luck!!

I'm definately going to try to look for someone else, but just being realistic, there probably won't be many available in such short notice. I hope though!!

You are right, I know she wouldn't finish up and I'd magically look as hot as Eva Longoria, but dark eyeliner and mascara are musts for me. I wear dark eyeliner and mascara on a daily basis (obviously not as dramatic as Eva Longoria going to the Oscars) and actually one of the first things I did when I got home was put on my dark eyeliner trying to see if that would "fix" everything. And I still did not like the eyeshadow colors. I think the problem with the eyeshadows that I had was that it was a very cool, brownish/silvery color, and I'm used to wearing pinky bronzy eyeshadow colors.

And in the pics, the lipstick was already wiped off. That's not what it looked like. The second she was out the door, I was wiping it off. It was definately orangy.

i really hope you can find someone! I kind of feel like though that even the MAC stuff and doing it yourself would make you feel better than what that lady did!! I'm sorry the eyeliner didn't help as much as you hoped it would. It was a good try though. She really didn't listen to you at all if you had to put eyeliner on!!! She must have magically expected that the fake eyelashes would make your eyes like Eva's?

I'm so sorry about the orangey lipstick, I guess I didn't see what it looked like when it was on, but I meant I think that a full-coverage good color would probably help the makeup out a lot to get the look you want. For when you're looking for colors and stuff for the next time.

Just trying to be helpful in helping pinpoint what might have been the parts of everything that weren't what you wanted. I've been a bride (pretty recently too) and I know how stressful these unexpected bumps can be! I hope you can get it figured out soon, for your own sanity!!

Aaawww, So sorry your disappointed with the makeup but as previous posters said you DO look natural; and really pretty lashes. But if it is not exactly what you want you should look elsewhere! You have a vision of how you want to look and you are paying your hard earned money to get it - you SHOULD have EXACTLY what you want! Any professional make-up artist would want that for you as well; she was/or will be a bride too! I was a M.A. and did a bunch of weddings and special occasions - too bad I'd have to fly to get to you!

But also consider you are looking strictly at the make-up alone; that day will be a total package. Once you get your gown on, head piece, veil, jewels it will flow together. But get those dark eyes you were wishing for! Good luck it will happen for you!!)

I just realized that I'm finally able to say "I'm getting married/going to Disney World NEXT MONTH"!!!!!!!!!!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
