The Folk who went.
Me (Andi) 38, would live there at the drop of a hat
My Girlfriend (Ann) no age disclosure, wasn't keen flying
Girlfriend's son (Andrew) 19, wanted to do everything
Girlfriend's daughter (Rachael) 14, 3 weeks off school (inc half term) well happy
Well, its finally arrived, February 2nd 2006 having booked through TCD way back on 13th June 2005. We decided that villa accomodation would be appropriate for the trip as MG, MGS and MGD had never been before, we purchased all park tickets beforehand as well.
Its 5.20am, mobile alarm, not due to set off to airport till 7am (not flying till 12.00 noon) however 30mile trip to MIA rush hour traffic, best be on the safe side. Usual panic for the bathroom in the morning (did I cut myself shaving). Before you say "hold the ice in the coke please" we were off to the airport. Arrived at MIA just after 8am traffic not that bad. TCD queue already building, we joined the cheap seat crew and waited (20 mins).
Had a quick peek round the shops, got some reading material, went to Burger King for brekkie (already in the spirit). Went through security, MG and MGD searched. Duty Free shop (not sure how they get away with some of thier prices), annoying aftershave saleswomen. Took the bull by the horns and went for a pint. Sat in departure loungue and time flew by (which is a 1st) until gate number came on boards.
NEXT TIME: The flight and arrival
