And you thought a Disney Cruise was Expensive

Well, the Fantasy Royal Suite for Christmas 2016 is $38,733 for 7 nights. That comes to just over $5 per square foot per night for a 1,029 square foot suite.

At $10,000 per night, the Regent Suite is 3875 square feet, coming to just over $2.50 per square foot per night.

So, the best Disney suite is twice as expensive per square foot than the best Regent Seven Seas suite. In fairness, that was a Christmas price for Disney. For a summer Disney cruise, say next June 4, the price drops to only about $4 per square foot. Still Disney is about 50% higher.

Statistics are fun.

That they are, but to be fair that is not only the Christmas price it is the 2 the top suites for DCL at $38,733. The Regent suite comes in at $70,000 a week, roughly twice the top suite at Disney. I wonder what the Christmas rate would be, I wonder what it price would be?

Then add the Regent average for 16 WBCA, at ..hold on....$50,000 per person.

In any case, I will not be coming close to affording any of the mentioned suites, I am lucky to get my wife her veranda!

It is amazing how you can play the numbers around.

As to the league.....no it isn't, but the Regent still doesn't have the Disney magic or pixie dust.

However she is a pretty vessel, nice hull lines. I just don't understand the big knuckles they put over the top of the forward house structures these days.

Regent is a luxury line and DCL is a premier line, not the same. Keep in mind Regent includes air fare, all shore excursions, gratuities, alcohol including premium brands, etc.

I think people who have become accustomed to paying Disney prices would be surprised to discover how much luxury cruise they can afford.

Not really. Disney is a mass market line. Crystal and Oceania are more in the range of "premier" though I have to say that this a term that isn't used frequently when describing cruise lines. Disney is often the highest rated mass market cruise line. But it is still mass market.

I agree its mass market, but my understanding was mass market was split with HAL, Celebrity, DCL, Cunard considered premier. I may have missed one... Princess maybe... not sure. I always thought Oceania and Crystal were considered a luxury lines with Regent.

I love DCL but it doesn't scream luxury to me. With the exception of the lobby (that have a classic feel), I find DCL to be similar to Carnival or RCCL (based on the pictures and the videos I saw).

I'd love to try premier lines... I saw videos of them and my jaw dropped. I did not find them to be that much more expensive than DCL...

I don't know...someone on here will probably tell us how they booked that catagory suite for 12 people for less than $500.00.
