I noticed that DL opens at 8am on the days we will be there so that means on MM mornings it will open at 7am, correct? There is no way I am going to get my kids and hubby to get up that early on vacation, so what happens if we show up at 8am, will the park be packed already? When do they start fast pass distribution on the rides that are open at 7am? I saw hydroguys tips and definitely want to utilize them but will it be hard to do if I don't take advantage of the MM.
TIA

FP distribution at DLR begins when the park opens, MM or not.

pretty much every attraction that's open during MM will automatically have a line when the park opens.

Magic Mornings will be one hour before official opening. If park opens at 8AM, MM is at 7AM. I suggest you do MM. You can always take a break in the afternoon. Fantasyland and Nemo as well as Buzz and Space Mountain are open.

Yes. 7am is correct! Yeah, we had two MM's and only made it to one! 6 am is way early to wake up!
No, the park will not be packed already by 8am, however the lines in FL will long already. Just do FL early on a non MM day.
You can not start collecting FP until the park opens, as far as I know. Not getting there for the MM will not affect your FP collecting.

I am looking for 4 MM tickets. It will be a birthday for three out of the five of us - one is to little and will not need a ticket.

Thank you all.

I don't know if you can buy MM tickets... perhaps I am wrong, but I think they are just "on" your DL ticket. They will be included with your ticket or not, you can not buy them.

are you referring to magic mornings? or mickey's toontown morning madness?

For those of us in the Central & Eastern Time zone, getting up for a 7am MM(& especially for an 8am) is easy the first couple of days. (time zone difference works in our favor. :thumbsup2)

Might want to read Hydroguy's tips on MM on the sticky thread on the top of the page. He makes some very good arguments on the subject of "We just can't get up that early." i.e.... how early do you usually get up? How would you like to avoid 3 hours of "stand and wait" time later in the day? How much would you enjoy having almost NO wait time for some major rides like Space Mountain and Buzz, and the Matterhorn?

As my husband put it to the kids, "You can sleep when you're in a retirement home." And it's so cool to beat the crowds by getting there early, then leaving the park when it's mobbed around noon and heading back to the hotel to relax, nap, swim, eat... and come back refreshed at night when it's getting dark and all the beautiful lights are on. SO FUN!

Just my opinion... I have better things to do at Disneyland than sleep! :wizard:

Or even better you can read my super detailed amazing MM super thread!

I can't wake up to get my kids to school early or to go to work , but for DL! " I'm too excited to sleep"! We sleep in one other day and make it a CA day because they open later and are taking a free day mid trip to sleep till our eyes pop open.

Definitely-- I should have said, DLR!;) You have the best info on that thread, it should be a sticky!

It's not a sticky yet, but DLR 29's excellent MM/EE thread can be found in Hydroguy's list of threads (which IS a sticky).

(& i agree with Avalon....the 20 min. of grumbling at "wake up" is worth it & is soon forgotten when one can enjoy the first 2-3 glorious hours at DL when it opens....when it's uncrowded even during semi-peak times of year.)

We did 2 MM's on our recent trip. No one was happy when the alarm went off at 5:45. But we all got up, threw on clothes and headed out the door. We ate breakfast in line- bananas, granola bars, bagels. We got so much done the first day that they were willing to do it again. The first day we did PP, Dumbo, Matterhorn, Alice, Pinocchio, Teacups, Snow White, Mr. Toad, all by 8:00. Then we did Matterhorn again, Storybook Canals and Space before heading to DCA for opening. The second MM, we raced to Nemo and did that and Autopia by 8:15.

We stayed in the parks until after lunch, went back to nap and headed back to the parks at about 6:00.

I think that Disney is not a relaxing vacation. You're supposed to be tired. I would definitely use all the MM's I had. Totally worth it.

Very good point, hadn't consider the time change!!
