I love my coffee - we have a coffee roaster right here in my hometown. Last Mar (2005) we stayed at the Poly. Word on this board back then was Poly was suppose to have the best coffee. It was okay. Feb 2006 we are at the Contemporary - will I be able to get my coffee fix?

I love the Kona coffee at the Poly, especially the pressed pot, but then I love Kona coffee and drink it year round.

Others here like the Kenyan at AKL, which is also Very good.

Haven't tried Contemporary Grounds (but I like the Name) since it opened.

We don't have a loal roaster here, though I'm thinking of starting to do it myself. Green beans are much cheaper than roasted.

Home roaster here, too. We're not taking chances. We're grinding the night before we leave and bringing a Coffee Press. We can get hot water from the concierge area.

Otherwise there are small heating pots you can buy. Use your own water, of course, as tap water at the Polynesian and Contemporary tastes like they pumped it in from the 7 Seas Lagoon.

I just don't take chances on my coffee...

I'm not totally wowed by the Poly Coffee either. It's ok. Better than Nescafe'. We're used to fresh Dark Roast, prefering Sumatra. You're best bet is to bring your own coffee. There are coffeemakers in all the mod & deluxe rooms. Bring 4-cup basket filters, your ground beans & bottled water (CaipiraBob is absolutely right on)

I was so glad when they started putting coffee-makers in the room. Before that, we had to pack our travel coffee-maker & all the fixins.

I like Starbucks coffee, which isn't gourmet but is WAY better than Nescafe. Not always, but once in awhile, they will sell the 4-cup pre-filled "pod" filter things for regular coffee. I think they have the espresso ones all the time, but the regular ones are just seasonal or occasional. I think they come 6 in a box. I like to travel with those, and brew the coffee with bottled water.

We live 10 miles from Green Mountain Coffee Roasters in Vermont and I can tell you...grind your own beans and take them with you!

It's pretty bad when you find that the best-tasting coffee in WDW is at the McDonalds kiosk in Epcot.

Kona coffee and Boma coffee are good, but what if you can't get there at 6:00 am????
