On the road now headed to the airport! We're booked today (2/1) through Saturday (2/8) for my ds's birthday trip! I surprised him last night and he is over the moon!

I've never been able to follow through writing a trip report after the trip so I decided this time I'll just report in as the trip happens.

Currently 5 am and we have a 9:10 flight. Airport is about an hour and a half away but we got some ice last night so right now it's slow going.

The only other challenge is that the ear infection I developed on my trip a couple weeks ago is still giving me trouble. I'm near the end of my second round of antibiotics and still hurting which isn't typical of my ear infections. I'm hoping it's not going to get hideous but at least now I know about centra care!

Hope it is an amazing bday trip for you all

Well, day one was mostly a huge success. Had a mishap at the airport that landed me with a minor injury and the ever present ear infection but other than that, things have been great!

Landed at 12:30. At POP by a little before 2. Room wasn't ready (and I was not expecting it to be) but before I even got a word out the CM said that won't work and got us into a room! Had lunch here before heading to Epcot.

Arrived at Epcot around 3:45 and managed to do SE, the seas
With Nemo, test track and Journey. We also visited club cool and spent time at innoventions.

Last night was low on sleep for us and we were wilting so we hopped a bus back to Pop around 7:15. Had a quick dinner and ds took a dip in the pool.

Tomorrow, we head to a walk in clinic for me, then legoland. We plan to pop over to MK when we get back tomorrow.

Magic bands have worked beautifully for our room, charging, park admission and fast passes so far.

Following your report. The first day is always rough. I have a hard time falling to sleep the night before esp if there is an early flight.
Hope the clinic is a good report.

Quick update-

Yesterday picked up our rental car and drove to legoland for the day.

Back in Orlando by 6 for dinner at Chuy's and then back to Pop for a short rest before heading to MK for EMH.

My car has been reserved for ages so no issues other than having to wait in line for 40 minutes!

Legoland was super fun but something about the layout felt difficult. I'm not really sure why. It was also really hard to tell what rides were what, even with the maps. The food was noticeably more expensive than Disney. On the other hand the attractions were seriously cool. Lots of fun.

MDE would not work for me at all yesterday. I kept trying so I could switch my fp to later times or salvage one since we were running a little behind but could never get on.

MK was beyond wonderful. Arrived and guest services changed the last fp for me. Just as I was about to upgrade ds's ticket to ap, I heard the parade announcement which totally surprised me bc the 7:00 was the only one listed. Turns out they added another! We had an amazing spot, tons of character interaction-it was pretty much the best parade experience ever.

We were able to hit several rides before grabbing the bus back to pop.

Biggest negative of the day was MDE and it's still an issue today!

I hear you on the trip reports after trip is over. I've not followed thru and completed mine. Lol. Actually I prefer reading live reports anyways, feels like I am right there with the person posting live. Lol.

Sorry to hear your ears are bothering you. Hope you feel better ASAP!

How great that you guys can swim. Feb is hit or miss and I've seen weather supposed to be in 80's this week. Awesome!!! It is snowing here and the kids had off. Perfectly good day to be in Disney right about now!!

Crossing fingers that MDE gets fixed. The times I've been on it to check on my upcoming resort reservation, it keeps saying there's as blip in their network!!!!

Good time to update-we're on the boat to beach club for an ADR at Beaches and Cream. Returned the car early this morning and shuttled to Hollywood Studios.

Rode the movie ride first. Something must have been up because it took them until almost 9:20 to let us in to board.

Did Muppets, tsmm, pizza planet lunch, star tours and lights, motor action. I've never seen lma and I absolutely loved it!! I've been missing out!

Overall, going well, weather's gorgeous and we're having a blast.

@Mama Mouse How's the crowds?

So far not bad at all. That said, a lot of the stand by lines are much, much longer than anticipated. Even when we went in may, some of the lines were shorter. But using rope drop, EMH and fast pass + helped us almost completely bypass that. My ds won't ride coasters, though. If we wanted to do even more headliners it would be harder.

Second half of Monday- beaches and cream was great! They saw ds's birthday button and shut down the lights, fired up the flashing lights, had the whole place sing to him and brought him a balloon with his ice cream! Food was great and the club was so big I had half left to bring with me.

Ds was really winding down by the time we were done, though, so we grabbed a bus to dtd, immediately switched to pop and came back for the night. Spent time at the pool and in the arcade before early bed.

Tuesday we headed to ak. We were there rope drop to close (5pm)

Rode Safari three times, dinosaur twice, triceratops spin, did rafiki's planet watch and played games at dinoland. Lunch at flame tree. (Amazing as usual!)

Yesterday I met up with a friend and she came along with us for a bit. Then my mom showed up (from Illinois!) to surprise my ds.

Hopped to MK after ak closed. Dinner at pecos bills and then we did hm, teacups, tta, cop, buzz and laugh floor.

Slept in today and then headed to MK for bog fp and a few rides. Gonna hop to HS tonight for fantasmic.

Slept in yesterday and ds had a morning swim. Headed to MK for 11:25 fp for BOG. Spent the rest of the day at MK.

BOG was wonderful, food was excellent. We'd ordered ahead and the order wasn't there but it was easily fixed and we barely waited at all for our food.

Fast passed Peter Pan, space mountain and big thunder. Ds rode those coasters too! It was so exciting! Everything else we did was almost no wait. Posted times of 10 or 20 minutes often ended up being walk ons.

Now he's ready to go back to AK and give EE a try!;)
