I know, some of those things are weirding me out! Oh, and add the various "armies" to your list, lol.
Here's my two cents on all this stuff: most of these problems are the work of kids - whether they be trying to live out army fantasies, playing house, bullying others into giving them things, or making rude comments, they are kids. In any case, some of the behaviors are weird and annoying, but innocent (boyfriend/girlfriend stuff) and some of it is downright wrong (the bullying behavior). Either way, they are mostly kids unsupervised by their parents. Now when I say "kids" I mean in maturity, in contrast to the "kids" that we all are on here as Disney fans, allowing our own kind, polite, well-behaved (well, mostly), fun-loving "inner children" to run around in a virtual
Disneyland (the whole Peter Pan never fully grow up idea).
Being that the troublemakers are kids, we each probably react the same way we do to children that we see acting up in real life. Some of us will ignore them, some will chastise them, some will tell their parents (vmk administrators), some will fight back by confusing the children (saw a post on here somewhere about this!), and some of us will avoid them. The key is, don't let it bother you too much. Do whatever you feel right and counter them by being nice and helpful to others. Even with these problems, I still think VMK is an awesome site to meet new people, enjoy games, and let loose that inner interior decorator. The golden age may have passed, but it's because there are actual people, with all their faults (especially the kids), in the kingdom.
Having said all this, I like to remember the experience I had a few days ago while talking to some friends on vmk. A guest walked into the room and we all said hi to her and asked how she was doing. She asked about a hidden mickey and we helped give her a clue. She then replied, "Wow! You are all so nice! Most of the people I talk to are mean. Thank you!" This experience made me realize how important it is to be nice to people to counter the bullies out there. So spread the love!
